I’ve always used a gas powered trimmer. But when the one I was using wore out I decided to try the Skil electric trimmer. It’s fantastic! The 4AH battery lasts for my entire property and I just throw it on the charger for the next time. Also my wife uses the trimmer too. She would never go near the gas powered one. I highly recommend this trimmer.

As far as weight it feels great, but I have two issues I don't like, 1st - the handle needs to be adjustable it's such a simple thing yet nobody does it. 2nd - either the switch is to touchy or when the trimmer comes into contact with a hard surface like a fence or sidewalk it powers down, this has happened to me several times already I'm not sure what it is exactly doing but it is annoying as heck.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like the cut it makes, being able to adjust the power is great for battery efficiency, the weight of the unit is more tolerable than my previous unit so I didn't feel so afterwards. My only complaint is that I think more grass shot towards my face then with my previous unit.
