[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let’s face it, using battery-powered tools & yard equipment can be a crapshoot. Whether it’s the battery dying well before the job is done, an inconsistent power flow as the battery drains, or - worst of all – diving into a project only to find your battery packs are all outta juice, battery power typically lacks the consistency & reliability gas is known for. Enter the PWR CORE 20, a battery-powered trimmer as powerful as any gas trimmer I’ve used in the past, with a fit & finish that puts it in a class alongside professional-grade equipment.
The battery, itself, charges quickly (15-20 mins) to full strength right out of the box. Once you get to work, the motor delivers consistent power, and the variable speed trigger offers the control to take down gnarly weeds and trim a clean edge with equal aplomb. Located on top of the handle is a switch to engage a more-powerful speed setting, and even though I’m yet to find the right opportunity for it, it’s nice to know it’s there should the Midwest ever turn into a jungle climate.
Beyond battery issues, another reason I sought an upgrade from my old trimmer was its cheap construction - it felt like nothing more than wiring covered in molded plastic. The PWR CORE is sleek, but it does have a bit of heft to it. Rather than feeling unwieldy or uncontrollable, it strikes the exact opposite. The trimmer is noticeably agile & balanced, you can tell it was designed with the job in mind. Not only that, but the buttons, switches, and triggers all have a smooth action, and their surfaces have a grippiness to them that aid in control. Small details, but together they make yardwork a bit more bearable, and that’s a win in my book…

good product but really needs a guide when being used near fences or walls of wood plastic earth etc so as to prevent damage.
also adjustabe shaft would be nice

Giving four stars mostly because very easy to replace the string. We all been there we all done that where some weed whackers are such a pain in the butt to string. Directions that came with it are terrible but thanks to an online video of some guy on You Tube, it was a breeze changing once you know how to do it.

Powerful Trimmer...

I have had the opportunity of using this trimmer for my entire yard - almost an acre. My first impression was that it does punch some power and it is very light and balanced to carry! And it works great overall. Unfortunately the battery it comes with will not last for the full duration of the effort... I must say, the effort was considerable given I was completing the first in-depth yard trimming of the season here in PA and did require much work. I suspect I will be able to complete my regular work on one battery charge going forward... But you might want to get a spare battery to be safe!
Also, I wish the head had a guard you can adjust so that you can complete trimming faster and easier. (The guard I am referring to includes a small arm one can set for when trimming beds and does not have to hold it a specific height.)
Good tool overall. Looking forward to continue using it.

Bump feed baby!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After running a gas powered string trimmer for the past 10 yrs I made the switch over to electric and it’s perfect for around the house. The bump feed is new to me, but wow. Anytime you string runs low, pull off the trigger and it will feed back up with no issues!
