Excellent light weight trimmer. The battery life was quite long considering how heavy the work load was for my first trim of the season. I have other Skil batteries but didn't need to swap it out.

this is the second one I bought, purchased 1st with blower combo but didn't bother to reg. and it died at 3.5 years. Just stopped working all at once. Tried the 12" 20v due to plant guide not realizing single string. It was worthless so I purchased another 13" 20v dual string works much better along chain link fence and other items much better. Have many of the 20v power tools and the trimmer is the only one that has died so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Okay weed eater could be more powerful and less in weight. They should build it out of magnesium material and plastic then it would have been really great and not sot so heavy.

Not impressed with my skil powercore 20 4.0ah 13 inch grass trimmer. I put it together, charged the battery and tried it on some light grass. The trimmer died after about 3 minutes of light trimming. The trimmer head would no longer rotate when I pulled the trigger. I returned it to the store where I purchased it for a refund.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
