[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After doing extensive research and checking the reviews, I decided to purchase the 5i Pro and have zero regrets! My previous Lenovo Y700 is over 6 years old and is still running strong, so I was confident in another Lenovo purchase.
Pros: build quality is very solid, keyboard is a dream to type on, it's wicked fast, very quiet when doing routine tasks (there's literally no fan sound at all when surfing the web or writing documents), lots of ports, and the QHD display is absolutely gorgeous!
Cons: The only major con I could see people complaining about is the size of the power brick. It's quite large, so if you're a portable player you might find that a hassle. To me, I use mine as a desktop replacement and I hardly ever travel with this laptop, so the size of the power brick doesn't bother me at all. When playing games, the fans get pretty loud, so I'd suggest using headphones if that sort of thing bothers you. You can't hear it with headphones in. I'd also suggest when playing games to get a laptop fan stand, such as a Targus fan. It helps cool the machine down and blow the hot air better. If you don't want a fan stand just raise the back end of the laptop up with a small book just to give it some breathing room. Again, this is only needed when playing games as when doing everyday tasks the computer is so silent and cool you would barely know it is on.
Bottom line: do not hesitate to buy this wonderful laptop. I got it on the holiday sale, and it makes my purchase feel that much more amazing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The machine I was sent has had multiple issues that tech support was unable to resolve. I fixed one myself but we couldn't fix the others relating to the screen. I've put in to have my machine replaced twice but they never send me replacement labels so I'll be calling a third time today because apparently I can only do that by phone during eastern time business hours.
