The thermostat itself is OK. I have installed of the thermostats that were easier and slicker. I attempted to get customer service for this thermostat while installing and that was almost… Well, not almost it was impossible.
Price was right, but one of the features I was looking for was schedule programming. The scheduling feature doesn’t work. This has been a known issue for some time according to Wyze forums. Wyze has told me to wait for a firmware upgrade.
Nice interface and easy to use. Installation straight forward but be forewarned only support one speed motors (my Honeywell has three) so chose only the high speed fan option
So far so good. Easy to install and looking forward to seeing how well it works.

Terrible phone interface

I have had this thermostat for about two years and find it terribly frustrating. I plan on replacing it. If you change a setting manually (i.e. different from what is scheduled) there is no indication on the display that it is in an override mode. It has also turned on the heater at random times. I cannot count the number of instances when I come home after being gone all day and the furnace is cranking away, despite that the device was never commanded manually to do this. Additionally, the sleep schedule always defaults to a low of 64F. I have never set it to 64F but always 61F, yet it still defaults to 64F. This is truly a terrible user interface, not the worst though as that is reserved for the sprinkler controller which is complete crap.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Its a good thermostat, does the job same as other types of "smart thermostats". App was easy to use, setup and get just how I wanted it. Most impressive part was the wiring adapter they had for those of us who don't have a "C" wire. It was nice to see it in the box and I was able to set it up easily without having to run a new wire. If there was one fix, update the app to allow 2-3 degree swing in temps instead of 5. its too wide a range and really is either freezing folks out or burning them up for homes in the south where temperatures fluctuate every day. This wont be any surprise though, it's been all over their forums as the #1 most requested thing for a few years. Don't get your hopes up it's going to be changed.
I am a huge fan of Wyze however I think the thermostat could be more accurate. It fluctuates 3 degrees either way of the temp I set. I bought two but one furnace was not compatible. I'm not sure why but I would think this is an issue resolvable? It doesn't play well with Alexa. I can use the Alexa app but not verbal commands.
