Great t-stat but need more software upgrades

This smart thermostat is great! I have 2, one for my garage heater and the other for the 2nd house air conditioner. The functionality isn't as robust as a nest thermostat but i am realizing i dont need all those bells and whistles.
For me I feel like spinning the wheel to adjust the temperature is backwards. I keep finding myself spinning it the wrong direction.
I dont know how well the home/away feature works in the app and i dont think it works correctly when there are 2 phones (even though my wife is home and i leave, the stat changes to away).
I would recommend this to a friend!

Slim clean look with well written and illustrated instructions for the novice do it yourselves. Informative and well calibrated with features found on much higher end units. Works well with the app and has full featured programmability. I trust them enough to guarantee them to my customers only [NOT A REPRESENTATIVE EMPLOYEE OR SPOKESPERSON FOR WYZE] for as long as they carry their yearly service contracts. I personally would like to see what they could do with a touchscreen unit hint hint

Resets temps by itself?

Love my Wyze cameras so took a flyer on the thermostat.
The software needs work. Not as intuitive as should be, but biggest issue is a very strange glitch where it randomly changes my temp setting. Most noticeable in auto heat/cool mode but also happened in cool only mode.
For example I set the heat at 55 then set the cool to 78. The heat temp then jumped to 72 without my input! Then when I fixed that, the cool setting jumped down to 74!
After resetting it a couple times it seemed to hold so we will see what happens over time.
I also notice there is no “back” function so that when adjusting a temp in auto heat/cool mode, in heat say, you cant go back to home screen easily. Seems like talling anywhere on the screen brings back home but this is weird. Should be a back function to return.
Hopefully software will be improved with updates. If temps continue to randomly reset themselves I’ll have to reurn it , but so far today seems ok.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent value

Pretty easy to set up. I had an extra wire ( blue) that wasn't being used with the RC,g,w and yellow so I was able to set that as a common wire.
Set up took 30 minutes or so. Programming was easy enough. Very happy with the performance so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It's a neat little package and good installation instructions. However, the 'stat is not easy to control with the software. The hold function is too complicated and requires a time of hold for each time you just want it to hold until you don't want to hold anymore (without specifying a time at each onset).

might not work for you. I feel like I wasted my $

Wasted 4 hours trying to get it to work in house #1. It powered up and found the network and was visible on the app. But, when I tried to turn on the heat it would turn back off after a few seconds. Not clear if it was a wiring error or a broken product. So, I gave up. Just tried to use in in another location and it is not compatible. This is a simple old system that has been in place for 0ver 40 years. A simple 4 wire thermostat. But no. What are the odds that it would not work in 2 systems?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
