The thermostat itself is fine and functions well. Remote access is a great feature to monitor and adjust house temperature as needed. It's certainly a handsome unit However, I and apparently a number of other users have difficulty setting up the thermostat to operate the condenser of my heat pump. At this point I will need to remove and reinstall the thermostat in my Wyze app to reconfigure it. Temperature adjustment on the thermostat itself is not intuitive. As with all things in the new millennium, a more complete User's Manual would be helpful, even it it's a downloadable pdf and not a hardcopy.

Inaccurate, frustrating. The displayed temperature is not what the app shows. I’ll have it set to 70 and it’ll show 74.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there! If you have a heat only system and no C-wire you should have Rc, G, and W1 wiring instead. We would recommend taking a look at this article for further information regarding this:

Excellent value for the price, all it needs to do is run a heater system. Having inexpensive smart tech with decent quality and reliability is something that is dearly missing in the smart market. My hope is that wyze doesn't lose it's small business values with the investor money and it's growing popularity.
Purchased the Thermostat to use in an outbuilding/garage. The building has Propane Forced Hot Air Heating. Two challenges, both able to be addressed, but not optimal. First, this thermostat requires a "C" line/power wire from the heater. My Garage Heater only has two wires, therefore a 24v power supply (amazon) is needed to power the thermostat. Second, the thermostat only allows the lowest temperture to be set to 50 degree's. There is a work around, as an emergency setting that gets activated if the thermostat control is turned off - I was able to set that temp to 40 degree's as a work around. I am fairly certain these limitations were outlined in the fine print that I did not read prior to ordering the thermostat (but was forced to find at installation time). Other than these initial set up challenges, I very much like the thermostat and it's ease.
Works well easy install and a good value but.... Need info on emergency heat usage when used with heat pump system. Such as amount of run time per day and month and also give an indication on the display to show when emergency heat is in use.
If you're thinking this thermostat must be missing something because it's so much cheaper than the competition, you're right. It's missing the ridiculous price tag. Everything else is there, and more. It works like a charm alone, and with Alexa/Google assistant, which is why I wanted it. It does so much more than that though. Installation was a breeze, and didn't take long at all. I'm so glad I didn't spend the extra money for anything else!
