Great product, but could use some key improvements. Namely, the UI in the app for managing the thermostat could be MUCH better. It's a pretty stupid interface when you open the app, all you see is the current temp and the set temp. There is so much wasted space on the screen. They could make it really functional and useful if they wanted to. For example, they force you to go through the gear (settings) menu to get to the scheduling, which is one of the main features I use. Why is this not more accessible on the main screen? Same goes for the historical data! Why not put a quick overview of the last weeks energy usage on the main screen instead of hiding it in a separate menu? What Wyze needs to do is what Apple has learned over the last few years: there is such a thing as going overboard on making something simple. In good design, functionality should come before simplicity. Apple's weather app used to be the same way, they made it was too simple and removed lots of data, only showing the temperature and a useless graphic background. But then a few years ago, they updated it with lots info presented in a simple way, and its way better and people love it.
The materials of construction are a little cheap (only plastic), but I guess that's what you get with a gen1 cheaper product. Also, another important thing that needs to be improved is that ALL directions in the manual and online that I could find assume that you have a certain non-ground wire configuration, which requires the installation of a ground wire adapter. This is fine and dandy, and I'm glad they plan this way because most people are probably this way, however, one of my units didn't need the ground-wire adapter because it already had a ground wire there! I exhaustively searched for how to install it without the adapter but I couldn't find information ANYWHERE. Why are there not instructions for this scenario too? In any case, I'm technical, so I figured it out and installed it without the ground-wire adapter, but I'm sure not everyone would want to/could do that on their own, and it probably applies to a small percentage of the population.
Not sure we like it just as of yet because heating season hasn’t come in to play so we’re not comfortable with it working with the heat as well as cooling.
Really fantastic. Easy to control. The one app service by Wyze is perfect. I'm happy to be a Wyze household.

I've only had it a few days, but I'm very happy so far. I also considered the Amazon thermostat but saw it was made by Honeywell... I am not a fan. Also it does not come with a C-Adapter, which actually make it more expensive. I was not crazy about having to add the C-Adapter but it worked and the instructions were very good! There is a lot more to this story but I'll stop here. Bottom line... I love it!
I replaced my 20 year old Honeywell thermostat with this one. I didnt want to use the large bezel. So I had to do some drywall repairs and paint, but it was so worth it. Clean lines. I like the motion detection that turns on the display, its easy to control and use, I love being able to adjust the temp from the comfort of my bed, or from anywhere if I am on vacation or on my way home from an outing. This is a great product.
It would be a good thermostat if it would stay connected to the wifi. Yes, my signal is strong enough, that shouldn't be an issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
