Simple to install. The faceplate is a good size to cover the area your old thermostat occupied. Everything was pretty straight forward, had to alter the original way I installed it to activate stage two on the heating system. Works great with rules, scheduling and the app.

Not ready for prime time. As stated in other reviews temperature setting jumps all over the place. Sometimes the settings do not save correctly. The home setting relies on someone passing by the thermostat every so often otherwise the mode changes to away. Same when you are sleeping. To avoid this problem I had to delete both the Home and Sleep settings in the schedule and only use the Away setting. I also tried hold setting and had the same issue.
Bottom line the thermostat is set to away and I adjust as needed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best Smart Thermostat

I have been using the thermostat for a week now and it seems to be working as expected. The installation was actually very easy and I do like the way the Wyze App talks you through it. Installation took me about 20 minutes. I like being able to adjust the temperature without having to go downstairs. I setup time blocks and also use the temperature adjustment since upstairs is about 3 degrees warmer than down. I am really looking forward to the add on device that I can place remotely upstairs in the warmer part of the house. I would also love to see Wyze come up with vents that work with the Thermostat that will open and shut in accordance with the room temperature to alleviate those warm and cold rooms for a more even temperature distribution.
