Found it surprisingly easier to install than I thought it would be. App controls, especially schedules, are not as intuitive and flexible as they could be.
Very nice smart thermostat. Does everything that the more expensive can do but for a fraction of the cost. Would like the screen to wake when I walk up to it. Additionally would like the capability to have sensors without needing the wyze sense.
it is really awesome having a wifi connected thermostat. while we were away for a couple weeks it suddenly disconnected so i couldn't turn the heat back up before we got home. since then it has worked great and i love it!
Cons: Missing some 'major' features for a smart device. Mess install compared to Nest 1. Screen info - this should be more configurable to show what I want to show at the thermostat. Ex: Weather, current temp and set temps, temps from other sensors. 2. Rules do not allow changing the temp!!! I can set a 'profile' like Home/Away/Sleep, but not just change the set temps...odd. 3. Install of my Nest was very simple. Install of the Wyze required a c-adapter. With my unit in the attic, this was messy. Plus, it did not work with the c-adapter. I ended up having to rewire my unit's complete thermostat wire to get the Wyze to work (removed the need for the adapter)
Pros: Simple use. Seems to keep house more even and seems to heat quicker 1. Easy to use once installed 2. Not sure why, but seems the heat is warmer and heats the house quicker. Also seems to keep the house more level across rooms.
I was incredibly disappointed to know that there was no smart function that adjusted the settings based on whether I was home or not. I didn’t even research it as I figured it would be an obvious feature for Wyze. The controls also don’t seem to be consistent. I’ll see my furnace turned on when the temperature is above my limit temp. Very frustrating. My siblings and I are highly invested in Wyze, but I’m super disappointed with this product. Considering returning for a google nest. :(

Fairly impressed with the build quality and seems to work well except that the internal thermostat runs around 4 degrees to warm Luckily Wyze allows for some adjustment. Just wish it would have sensor inputs for slabs sensors and could use it with our in-floor system.
