This is the second thermostat we've bought (house has two HVAC units). Love them! They are simple and look good and I do most of the changes on my phone. When we had to replace one of the furnaces recently the HVAC guy was impressed with the setup. Also have sprinkler controller, video doorbell, cameras and watches
SO Stat is fine, install easy. Looks great. It is just alot dumber than you would hope. Note I have a NEST in our other place and it has the same problems. So it is great if you have a regular life and can program it. If you don't have a schedule (ie retired) then it is not so much help and you end up fighting it - 'yes I really am home' (no I don't share phone location by choice) So in the end I just set home, away, sleep to the same temp. I'd also like a stat that was smarter about switching from AC to heat. Not a problem I am sure in most places but in our part of FL it is common to heat at night and AC in the afternoon. System requires a 5 degree minimum between Heat an AC - too broad. It does however switch automatically unlike my manual stat. Finally, I'd like a stat that considered the humidity in making temp choices. Think of those temp/humidity wall thermometers with the 'comfort zone' spelled out. If the humidity is low 80 is fine if the humidity is high 80 is oppressive but the stat isn't bright enough to consider humidity at all I do like being able to control from away and it is nice that shows in the WYZE app with everything else. Now if I could just figure out how to reorder items in the list.
The actual equipment doesn't have a very durable feel to it and the button wasn't working until I restarted my furnace three times. The interface is great and worked solidly even though the unit itself wasn't working right. Now everything is working properly and I glad I purchased it, but the initial experience could lead people to not like it.
We are able to use Alexa verbally, we are able to use the Wyze app, and we are able to use the device manually to adjust the temperature settings. This is a very nice and affordable way to have this feature in our home.
