New Wyze Thermostat

We bought the Wyze thermostat to replace an old programmable unit connected to our pellet stove. Connecting the thermostat to the network was one big feature. The one big question was the need for an external power supply and how to connect it. After researching others that had done the same, I bought a 110/24 volt external power supply, connected it to the proper terminals and we were off to the races. The thermostat works as described with our Castile pellet stove providing reliable operation.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy install and setup

It was easy to install. I did have a spare wire that I could use for the C wire. I consulted my HVAC expert and he instructed me on running the C wire, as my system was hardwired, no screw terminals on the control board. Once installed the setup was easy with the app. I set up routines for Wake and Sleep easily. Another advantage if you need to wake before your scheduled time you can just raise the temp with your phone so it’s nice and toasty for you.

Easy to setup

Easy to setup. Some of the videos on Youtube especially helped with blue wire that need to be connected to common. Noted that the blue wire at the HVAC is not connected to co24v.
The base plate doesn’t cleanly cover the old thermostat area leaving an ugly unpainted area. Maybe a design that would cover the old would be awesome.

Reluctant to install

Reluctant to install as im losing faith in the consistency of Wyze interactions.
I have color bulbs that i want to actually turn on and off at specific times, yet this fails on a daily basis and becomes a hit or miss...i cant take that risk with the HVAC system in my house if the app cant even turn on/off a bulb properly, so yes i have to install the thermostat

Amazing product

I bought it a while ago and installed it myself. It was very easy to do and I had no issue at all! The installation took maybe 15 minutes but I’ve never done this before so you can probably do it faster.
I love all the functions with it! Easy to use, it looks amazing on the wall! I have 0 complains and I don’t understand how this product can get anything but a 5 star review. I hope they will add the room to room sensor.
