Once the thermostat is installed it works fantastic, but getting it installed was tricky since the instructions didn't cover my particular kind of system which has a different kind of control board. It took over 2 hours to install since there wasn't any support for Goodman brand Air Handlers and their control boards.

Not good for a gas forced air furnace

Gas forced air furnaces have been around for what? More than 80 years? The way a thermostat is supposed to operate such a furnace is well-established by now. Yet Wyze for some unknown reason decided to do it differently.
The way it's supposed to work: the thermostat connects the red and white wires to call for heat. The furnace will do the rest, including starting the fan when it is ready.
The way Wyze does it: the thermostat calls for heat with the white wire but also calls for fan with the green wire. This causes some furnace fans to come on before the furnace is ready, thus blowing COLD air. Then the furnace will shut the fan off, wait a bit until it is ready, and then restart the fan, now blowing warm air.
This starting, stopping, and restarting of the fan is not good for a fan motor/starter and can shorten its life.
You can get around this by simply not connecting the green wire. You won't be able to run just the fan to circulate air, but that's probably not a big deal for many people. Worse, though, is that the AC won't work. AC, unlike heating, requires the green wire to turn on the fan. So, as it is now, I plan to reconnect the green wire this spring after heating season is over.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So far so good! Love how the display isn’t lit until you walk up and it senses motion. I wish the auto temperature could be narrowed by more than 5 degrees but no biggie. That would probably take more energy… happy with all my wyze stuff!
I’m so happy WYZE came out with this thermostat, it regulates the temperature in my home much better than before. Works with Alexa to point that I do not need to keep looking at the thermostat. What a Christmas present, Thank you WYZE. Ding Dong the Nest is gone!

Exceptional design and function

Installed two in my house in under and hour. Like all wyze products I've bought so far, well designed (both physically and functionally). As I've only had them installed for a month, looking forward to seeing the feedback/diagnostics going forward.

Failed after one month!

Purchased the thermostat one month ago and it work great until today (our coldest day ever 19f degrees). Now, no matter what I do it won’t connect to the network, but the router says it’s connected! There is no phone number for service. You need to walk through endless internet pages to finally request a replacement! Horrible!!!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love but I wish I had a log file of when someone charges (touches) the setting. My non tech friendly parents keep touching it claiming it doesn't work.
