sub-standard manufacturing

Ordered this range online. Wanted a basic, manual clean range for an apartment. When it arrived the bottom storage drawer was very crooked & didn't close correctly. Spoke to the place where I bought it to get it repaired, instead they ordered a replacement range. Got 2nd range, same exact thing! Plus the hole for one rear leg, where you can adjust the height, was drilled crooked so it won't go down as far as the other side. Kept the range as too much hassle to return - again - but now sits above countertop because leg won't go down any further. Have turned it on & everything seems to work OK but tenant hasn't moved in yet so only time will tell. Also the "manual" it came with barely has any info about the oven. It mentions the "control knob (some models)" but never mentions the digital control at all, which is what this range has! Going to search online to hopefully find a more complete manual. Always thought GE was a good brand. Certainly re-thinking that after this experience.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the auto shut off function

I bought this range for my mother, who lives with me in the daylight basement of our home. She's getting up there in age & we BOTH felt relief when we noticed the burners shut off as soon as weight is removed. She also has several cats, who very rarely get on the stove & turn ot on with a tail or paw.... all o it takes is one time....
