Small wheel clogs

The small wheels clog easily, don’t roll, and very hard to clean.

Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've found the tiny wheels on your Dyson Omni-glide™ are clogging with pet hair frequently. We've found that a pair of tweezers is the perfect size to remove those hairs. You'll want to be sure to check your machine, generally, I recommend after each time you vacuum, to remove any hairs wrapped around those wheels. Easiest floor cleaner ever!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this a little over a week and it is awesome. Cat and dog dry food pieces on the floor is a thing of the past. Tracked cat litter is gone. Very lightweight and easy to use. It ‘slides’ easily across the floor and it picks up the smallest particles. Great in the kitchen to pickup those small pieces the fall off the counter. I have spot cleaned all over my house on one charge.
It mounts on the wall with ease with the included mounting hardware, it even includes a pencil.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It’s about time. This stick vacuum has a much better weight distribution. The other stick vacs have the bulk of the weight at the handle, making them feel awkward. I like this design much better.

Not completely satisfied with it

Unfortunately it doesn’t work as I expected. I have noticed on multiple occasions that it just pushes the dirt, hair, or debris around rather than picking it up. Specially dog hair. Other times the wheels will get stuck and stop rotating, then I have to turn off and restart.

Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to read your review, and that you're not having a better experience with your Dyson Omni-glide. Your new Dyson features an omni-directional soft roller head which moves forward, backward and side-to-side. The articulating neck is also ultra low profile, and can lay completely flat to reach just about anywhere in your home. It would be unusual to hear that debris isn't being picked up or is being left behind after making a pass with the floor tool. Your machine does have both Eco and Max suction modes; if you find that something is remaining on your floor, you can use Max suction for an added boost.
It also sounds unusual that your wheels are getting stuck or stop rotating. The 360 degree castors move in any direction. We would like to ensure that your vacuum is performing as intended. Please feel free to reach out to askdysonUS@dyson.com. We are keen on providing support.

Poor suction

I thought I had a defective unit and had them send me a replacement. Unfortunately the combination tool has like zero suction. I really need this feature and I'm not buying a second vacuum just to use attachment tools. Sorry Dyson, have to return it.

Dyson glide doesnt glide

I have had this vacuum cleaner for less than 2 months. It stopped gliding. It feels very rigid as i push it around to the point it left gliding marks on our brand new wood floor. What am i supposed to do?

Motorhead stops spinning, Bad handle

I liked the idea that they are making a smaller vacuum that is lighter and has a flexible motorhead.
The omni-glide motorhead with double rollers is surely flexible, however it stops spinning as soon as it touches a rug. There are of course different surfaces in a room, such as rug, tiles, hardwood etc. I can't be switching motorhead whenever I want to vaccuum a rug. It's not efficient. Once the motorhead stops spinning, no dirt gets picked up, and I have to turn off and on the machine, then as soon as it touches the rug, it stops spinning again.
Let's talk about the design of the handle. Even though overall the machine is a pound lighter than the other ones, the majority of the weight is on the handle where the battery and chip is. The handle is a stick with smooth plastic surface, which means you have to be gripping hard all the time in order to push and pull. It definitely does not feel like I'm gliding effortlessly. Dyson needs to keep in mind that a lot of customers are women who does not have as much hand strength as men, they should make things easier to grip like the traditional Dyson machines. I get that the handle looks this way because you can push the vacuum under a bed and get into all the corners, but you can do better than a SMOOTH round handle. Even SCREWDRIVERS have grooves to provide easy grip. Hope this inspires you to rethink your smooth stick handle.
The smaller motorhead provided for carpet cleaning is great for stairs. No bigger head is provided for carpet rooms which needs a bigger head for coverage. Overall, very disappointed with this product. Too many flaws.

I can confirm that this machine was designed for cleaning hard flooring only; the rollers are not designed to move freely on carpeting or area rugs. This vacuum was engineered for use on hard floors, and with it's smaller size, is great for smaller homes and apartments. When vacuuming in a home with bare floors, rugs and carpeting, you'll want a machine that features a multi-floor tool which can work on all types of floors.

Great for Hard Floor, Glide Wheels Need Redesign

Great light weight tool, charges fast. As an engineer, I think I may modify the glide wheels so they are easily removable for cleaning. I use tweezers between charging and blower to clean. I have two Riccar vacuums for carpets but hate bags, so my next vacuum will be a Dyson.
I would recommend this to a friend!
