This dryer did not work properly from the start, and had not been used more than ten times in the month since purchase when it stopped working completely. Vendor did not agree to replace with new dryer, quoting Speed Queen policy; instead repair person had to change everything: motor, thermostat, and Setting Dial. We were told a crucial part was defective. Now the new Setting Dial, cheaply made with plastic, still cannot be set properly, so one has to use a kitchen timer to keep track of drying time. Our previous Maytag dryer lasted 30 years. This one lasted one month.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This dryer is a workhorse!

This is my first gas dryer. It dries clothes quickly. Meanly problem is that sometimes when I push the start button, it does not start. I call in to the customer service help line and the lady was kind and cheerful and told me to not set censor near * button. Unfortunately, that does not always work. It has alway started after I rotate the dryer drum just a little. really wish someone would come out and check this our. Only two weeks old and has happened several times.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Shouldn’t have bought my old dryer was working fine and didn’t need this one. Hate the fact the lint vent is down along the front door area instead of on top. I have a bad back don’t like the bending, also feels like I’m going to put my fingers through the screen itself.

recurring unresolved drying issues

I could not wait for my new Speed Queen W/D!! Unfortunately, it has been a huge disappointment from the start (9 mos later). I have had 7 parts replaced on the unit and it still will not dry clothes and does not finish three of the different timer cycles (stops half way)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Simple, no frills involved. Was hesitant at first because of no frills like previous washers. Clothes are very clean and use the eco cycle which is quick.
