When our previous dryer failed, the repairman said "Do yourself a favor and get a Speed Queen!" After research and speaking with our long term appliance store, we found he was right. It has lived up to its reputation.

I m very happy with the Speed Queen gas dryer. I find the dry sensor to be quite good. Having said that, like all appliances, the SQ dryer has its own operating temperament and does take time to understand. For example, I cannot manage to get the dryer to operate on Normal Eco. I use the normal cycle for towels etc. I purchased the TR7 gas dryer specifically for the steam refresh feature; my former high end dryer had this feature and as a traveling business person, I frequently used this feature to refresh wrinkled items. The Speed Queen certainly performs the refresh cycle; however, you have to run the garment through the entire cycle of 15+ minutes.
Overall, the Speed Queen dry is great!

This is my third speed queen product. I love the company and the products are well made. The dryer I purchased has many bells and whistles and I am disappointed that some on the extra featured cycles cannot adjust the time of the drying. The manual does not explain this either.

Dryer doesn't dry really bulky towels thoroughly (sensor?). I have to give them extra time. The dryer makes a noticeable thump-thump-thump at start up. I think the dryer belt has 'memory' from if the dryer sits a day or two.
Washer is okay so-far. No dispenser for soap is annoying.

This is a great dryer. Works really well, it’s very quiet. I can be on the phone while it’s running and it won’t cause any background interference.
