After having a bad experience with my Samsung washer, I decided to do some research & look for a dependable washer & drier. OMG! I absolutely love my Speed Queen washer & drier. I read a lot of reviews in regards to Speed Queen, talked to an unbiased repairman & friends & heard nothing but good things about it. Thank you Speed Queen!!

Love the matching washer, but not happy with dryer

As new Speed Queen owners, we were impressed with their reputation and quality. After much research, we decided to buy the TR7 Washing Machine because it was the quietest on the market (and it is VERY quiet and we love it). We decided to buy the matching dryer and are disappointed. We've already had a repair technician out in the first two weeks due to the loud rattling noise made supposedly by the heating element. The dryer still makes the loud noise, and overall this is the loudest dryer that we've ever owned, and are beginning to regret purchasing the dryer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great product with a couple quirks

I really like this drier. There are a couple minor quirks:
1 - opening/closing the door takes a lot of force. Sometimes the force needed to push the door closed actually moves the whole drier. Could be better.
2 - In some cycles selecting the completely dry setting instead of mostly dry reduces the amount of time. Seems backwards.

Best today - but....

I want an invite to review again in 10 years! I have replaced a washer and or dryer every 5 to 7 years. Ridiculous. I did some research about 7 years ago after a client told me about his awesome Speed Queen set. I wish I would have punched one at that time, but the price scared me off. Well I am now 7 yrs older and a lot wiser. I just pulled the trigger and got a set, It is so far worth every penny. I did not get an instruction manual so I had to ask SQ to send me one. I need one so I can learn how to properly use all the setting. That would be my only complaint is that a manual with instructions did not come with. It could have been an overbite. The steam setting on the dryer is very very nice. I think I can retire my iron. The dryer has a static and pet eraser setting which has also come in handy. The washer takes a bit longer to wash but my clothes are coming out clean and the machine is very quiet. This is huge for those who have the machines in the main level living. Mine is not but while also working in the basement I could not hear it. This also goes for the signal when finished. It could be a bit louder. Over all. I am pleased with the machines and look forward to never replacing my washer and dryer again. Can't beat the warrenty either.

Dryer is so easy to use, so many options and has a big lint catcher that's easy to see so reminds me to clean it. My previous dryer would dry blankets and they would stay wet in the middle because they were balled up. Speed Queen dries differently so drying is done evenly.
