Was so excited, now I'm unsure.

We were so excited about our Speed Queen purchase, and have heard such amazing things. After less than a month our dryer's timer stopped working. I started the dryer at night before bed and when I woke up it was still running...could of burnt the house down, the clothes were SO hot. It has been over a month and getting it fixed through the warranty is slow. I don't know if I can trust this machine. We spent a lot of money and I'm not sure if it was worth it. Did we just get a fluke lemon dryer? So far the washer has been great.

I love how quiet this dryer is! I love the quality build of this machine! It doesn’t take long to dry a load of clothes and it really gets my hair and my daughters off the clothes! I like that the door was reversible. I’m still getting used to not having to reach over the door to swap the laundry!

This dryer has exceeded my expectations of drying my washed clothing and such! The built-in light that comes on when you open the door (which is adaptable to be mounted as a left-side opens or as a right-side opens) - is really helpful. The dryer is very quiet while operating, too.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We bought our Speed Queen dryer because of the brand's reputation for reliability. We also wanted a Made in USA machine. We are so happy with our Speed Queen. The quality of this machine is very good. It dries clothes perfectly and without any fuss. We don't have to worry about circuit boards failing as we did with our previous dryer. The machine is easy to use. Best part? No error codes. Thank you Speed Queen for making a reliable product right here in the Midwest.

Dryer vent has melted and causing holes on my shirts and under garments. For such an expensive machine This should never of happened. I’ve only had it a year. They came to repair it. However, the new dryer vent is changing colors after only a month of installation. I’m keeping a vigilant eye on it because I fear it will put holes on my clothing again. I don’t think this new vent will hold as the high heat seams to melt it, I wish it was just a good quality metal without any paint. The paint seems to melt and turn into chards causing the holes. I would not recommend!

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us, but we apologize for the trouble you've had. We understand that service was out for repairs, but that these concerns don't seem to be resolved. While it can be normal for the vent to become slightly discolored, there should not be a build up of clothing fibers forming on it. The metal itself cannot melt from dryer temperatures. If this build-up is occuring, it is usually a sign that the airflow in the dryer's exhaust system is being restricted, or that fabrics may be drying on too high of a heat setting. We'd recommend sorting fabrics into like loads, and checking fabric care labels to determine the right heat setting. From there, we'd also check to ensure the venting material being used is either rigid, or semi-rigid, metal ductwork as flexible foil type venting will restrict the airflow. Then, this exhaust system should be checked and cleaned routinely (roughly every 12-18 months) to ensure it is not blocked/clogged or kinked/crushed. If this doesn't help, please contact our Customer Support at 800-552-5475 (Monday to Friday; 8:30am – 4:00pm Central Standard Time) so we can better assist.
Quality product. Quiet operation compared to old dryer. I like having a light inside the dryer, and the location of the lint screen in the front inside area of the dryer.
