Pleased with the washer and dryer

I bought the Speed Queen washer because of certain features it had. I heard bad things about how people were dissatisfied with the new washers on the market for reasons such as not enough water to get the clothes clean and the locked lids. Both of these features appealed to me. I, also, liked that the top of the washer was flat and that it was not glass which would need more cleaning. Another feature that I REALLY like is the speed that it completes the wash cycle, and it does a good job of getting the clothes clean. It does not vibrate and the metal is heavy and durable.
Some of the things that I would prefer to be different are as follows: The machine is rather noisy. When washing just a few items, the water level is way too high. There is no way to manually adjust the water level. The washer does not have a way to mix hot water and warm or cold water to get a desired medium temperature. Sometimes the hot is too hot and the medium is too cold for the items I want to wash. I have found a way around this. I just cancel the hot and choose the warm or cold. One feature I really would like is that the machine would fill when the lid is up.
The dryer is very efficient. It dries the clothes quickly. I prefer using the timed drying cycle rather that the automatic. Maybe I did something wrong, but the auto cycle doesn't seem to stop when the clothes are dry. It still uses up the time as indicated on the dial. I, personally, don't believe the cool down is necessary however this is just my personal opinion.
It is difficult to get used to new appliances after using the same ones for so many years. All in all, I believe Speed Queen is a top product and, without reservations, I would certainly recommend Speed Queen.

Dryer has options for settings. Wish there was an instruction card specific to the operation of the dryer. Still a learning curve.

Not a cheap China brand. Made in U.S.A. Talked with others who have Speed Queen. Can't go wrong.

Im very pleased with the performance. I've had several other brands and they don't compare, even though the cost is essentially the same. It isn't pretty with a lot of bells or whistles but it works as it's supposed to!

Fast, clean and done

This washer doesn't have all the "bells and whistles" but my laundry is done in 40 minutes. It is clean and not over stressed by excessive spinning. There is no stinky smell from my previous front loader (Yes I followed all the cleaning directions plus some). Finally, I'm short (4'10") and can reach the bottom.

Brought a new speed queen washer and dryer set about three weeks ago. I love it so efficient the washer is heavy and mo more over balancing with my old whirlpool. Thank you speed queen
