Take a wait and see attitude

Have already had problems. Had to have a part replaced and lubricant added. Do your research.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

For the price of your machines,there should be included in the units,all operating instructions.Requested operating instructions about 1 month ago.No paper work received yet. tc5003wn needs more water level selections.Otherwise we love the machines. Bought also dc5oo3we

The Samsung washer/dryer frontloaders that came with our house worked well enough, but would require maintenance/repair/unclogging every couple of months, right when we had family visiting and needed to do lots of laundry. After repairing the rollers in our old dryer for the 2nd time in 6 months, I had enough. I was tired of my wife not being able to get the laundry done and worrying about that while still taking care of the kids.
So, we bit the bullet, spent more than we planned, and bought a new matching set of TC5 & DC5. These machines are truly great. I love that they're built here in Wisconsin, are burly, simple, and get the job done every time. The peace of mind it brings me, knowing I won't get a call from my wife at work letting me know the washer/dryer broke down again, is absolutely worth the cost.
If you're on the fence about Speed Queen, go with it. You won't be disappointed.

Pleased with the washer and dryer

I bought the Speed Queen washer because of certain features it had. I heard bad things about how people were dissatisfied with the new washers on the market for reasons such as not enough water to get the clothes clean and the locked lids. Both of these features appealed to me. I, also, liked that the top of the washer was flat and that it was not glass which would need more cleaning. Another feature that I REALLY like is the speed that it completes the wash cycle, and it does a good job of getting the clothes clean. It does not vibrate and the metal is heavy and durable.
Some of the things that I would prefer to be different are as follows: The machine is rather noisy. When washing just a few items, the water level is way too high. There is no way to manually adjust the water level. The washer does not have a way to mix hot water and warm or cold water to get a desired medium temperature. Sometimes the hot is too hot and the medium is too cold for the items I want to wash. I have found a way around this. I just cancel the hot and choose the warm or cold. One feature I really would like is that the machine would fill when the lid is up.
The dryer is very efficient. It dries the clothes quickly. I prefer using the timed drying cycle rather that the automatic. Maybe I did something wrong, but the auto cycle doesn't seem to stop when the clothes are dry. It still uses up the time as indicated on the dial. I, personally, don't believe the cool down is necessary however this is just my personal opinion.
It is difficult to get used to new appliances after using the same ones for so many years. All in all, I believe Speed Queen is a top product and, without reservations, I would certainly recommend Speed Queen.

Dryer has options for settings. Wish there was an instruction card specific to the operation of the dryer. Still a learning curve.

Not a cheap China brand. Made in U.S.A. Talked with others who have Speed Queen. Can't go wrong.
