Quality has definitely dropped over the years

Others have surpassed. An I've always used speed queen but quality not what it use to be !!!

I finally bought the Speed Queen washer/dryer and even though I've only owned the set fewer than 3 months, I think it really washes and dries my clothes SO much better than my front loader Maytag.

This washer and dryer combo is amazing. I love that it actually fills with water and gets clothes clean in less time than my previous set. Love it! And it’s made in the USA

It does a good job drying if you set it correctly. My dryer in the past I could turn the knob back to the setting needed. This dryer you can turn it back, but in doing so it may not ever stop running. My dryer has run for over 10 hours at time because I was turning the dial counterclockwise. You have to turn the knob only clockwise or you may break it. The lint trap is in dumb location, in the front on the bottom. Your clean clothes fall into it and get the lint on them if you don't empty it as soon as you open the door. If you have someone in your household with long hair, you will find a lot of that in the cover on the lint trap, so you can't get it completely clean each time. The wrinkle out setting doesn't seem to get any wrinkles out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

advance in the auto-dry cycle as the cycle knob is only designed to be turned clockwise. This information can be found in the User Guide of our dryers for reference. We do recommend clearing the lint trap at the end of each cycle as this ensures proper air flow and the best performance. Plus, emptying the lint trap will ensure no lint gets on any of your fresh dry clothes. So, its a double win!
