The dryer doesn’t shut off

My dryer will go on for hours and hours if I don’t turn it off. We called as it is under warranty and they told us the companies that do their warranty work. None of them would do it - either we had to carry the dryer to the store or they wouldn’t do it because we didn’t buy it from them. My husband called and asked if we could use someone else. They said they would email me and they never did. I am pretty frustrated.

We can see how that would be frustrating, Sheena. We’d love the chance to further assist you if the servicers previously provided aren’t able to assist with diagnosis or repair. Firstly, ensure you only turn the cycle knob clockwise when setting the controls. If turned counterclockwise, it may open the contacts in the timer and no voltage will get to the timer motor. When that happens, and the timer cannot advance, the cycle has no way to end. Very Loud!

I certainly wish I would have just had my old Speed Queen washer and dryer repaired, they were a lot quieter and more user-friendly. The fryer has a loud rubbing sound when starting and running - after a while, the rubbing quiets down but the loudness of the dryer is annoying. Response from the repairman "It's a commercial dryer it's going to be loud, as for the rubbing this dryer has the best warranty you can get. just wait and see if anything happens." Not impressive at all! It also take a long time to dry a half load of clothing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It’s pretty common for dryers to sit in warehouses and develop mild flat spots on the rollers, which is often what causes those first sounds, but the rollers heat up and smooth back out with use resulting in the noise fading away. Problem machine

When we got this machine I was impressed. Now 7 months later we have had to replace the motor. It is loud now and we were told other parts will have to be replaced later. I thought this was a great machine but now have lots of concerns. Very disappointed in this product

Speed Queen Washer and Dryer

The washer is much quicker than are old washer. I feel like the clothes come out more wet. I miss the Heavy Duty Cycle we had on are old washer.
The Dryer does not dry well on the Perma Press Cycle. You have to dry on the Regular Cycle. When you put towels in the dryer, you have to turn the Regular Cycle on twice. I miss the Heavy Duty Cycle on the Dryer. I will say the Dryer Drum is big.

Different wash cycles will include different spin speeds, which determines how much water is being spun out by the end of the cycle. Our Heavy Duty or Bulky cycle uses a high final spin speed while the Perm Press or Delicate would use a low spin speed. Depending on the items being dried, you may need to adjust the fabric selector knob to adjust the heat temperature for the cycle. This way, items can dry to your specific needs without being over-dried or under-dried. Noisy drum

The dryer dries clothes quickly, and appears to be built well, but unfortunately, we must have got a lemon. A loud squeaking noise started only a couple weeks after purchase. We had techs come and service it under warranty, they replaced the parts they thought were the cause, though they could not determine why it was making noise. A week later the noise is back... Pretty frustrating.

Gets the job done

We replaced a washer a couple years back. When it came to replacing our dryer, there was no question that we would get the companion speed queen. We are a family of 6 (4 growing kids), live on a farm, and have constant laundry. Both our washer and dryer handle everything we throw at them. We made the right decision.
