broke twice in less than two years and no service

I'm very disappointed that my dryer has broken down twice in less than two years. It was supposed to be a quality machine and the service people in my area say they will no longer service Speed Queen because they have seen so many issues in the past couple years. My machine has a 7 year warranty and I'm still waiting for Speed Queen to get someone out to fix it since it broke ago two months ago!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Rocky start

I purchased a speed queen washer and dryer and within a year the dryers heating element went out. Not a huge problem as those are relatively easy to swap out. However, the warranty coverage was less than ideal. Between the struggle to find someone in my local area and the very store bought it from not being on list (despite frequent inquiries trying to get on the list), it took almost a week to find someone. Once I did, it took a month for the warranty shop to both order parts and fit us into their schedule. We use our machine every day (4 kids plus daycare) and a month without a dryer was a big problem for us and ultimately cost us additional money and time with having to go to a laundromat to wash and dry our clothes. At the end of the day speedqueen did make it right, but it was not without its hassles.
Beyond that, the machines have worked well and we are very happy with them. The do a great job cleaning and drying clothes. Easy to install. Easy to maintain as a user.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best Washer & Dryer set ever!

Durability, dependability, great quality and variety of drying options make this Speed Queen dryer no doubt the best! We have both the washer and dryer set and have been so happy with both! We had earlier experience with SQ in our rental apartment as well as having done thorough research on their products. Thank you, Speed Queen, for product quality other companies should emulate!

Quit heating Twice in the first two years

I really love the machine, when it works. But it stopped heating once in the first year of owning and then again within a year of that first repair.

The worst dryer and response to problems ever

I purchased dryer in mid June and it has been broken twice. The warranty work this first time took over a month and I am on week 3 with no response from a repairman. I would call that poor service from Speed Queen.

You can’t beat a product that is American made with a great warranty. The cherry on top is all the settings to choose from! I highly recommend Speed Queen!

Speed Queen Dryer

Only had the dryer for 2 years now and the heating element went out. This product was recommended by a friend who endorsed this product but I guess we ended up with a bad one. Thankful the warranty for this dryer is reliable and everything was covered to replace.

Burns clothes

This burns your clothes. Even on low temp and extended tumble. The vent gets to hot and melts clothes. We have thrown away so many clothes that were ruined. Bought a new vent cover to replace the original that had melted clothes stuck so it. Worked for a while, but it is melting the fabric on our clothes again. For this being significantly more expensive than most dryers, it is unacceptable. I highly recommend going with a different model or brand.

If replacing the vent cover didn't resolve this, then there is likely an underlying cause that needs to be addressed. Oftentimes, this is a sign of the venting being restricted. We'd check to make sure the venting isn't crushed or kinked behind the dryer and if you haven't recently had the exhaust system maintained, this could be the solution.
