After having a front loader for 12 years (and living through the usual issues with those) my dryer died and we decided to purchase a new set. We researched and decided on the Speed Queen top loader washer. I was concerned with gong back to a machine with an agitator but have found no problem with that as the delicate cycle is great. During regular cycles the agitator does not move as much as old machines and I do believe it is gentler on our clothes. I have had trouble getting use to using less fabric softener (and watering it down) but if I don't I have to do an extra rinse. We also have a mound system so I do like the option of the water saver. If I have extremely dirty clothes I can use the "heavy duty" cycle. All in all I am enjoying my new machine and have not had problems with it.
I've owned the Speed Queen washer and dryer for two months. I'm still trying to learn the cycles as there isn't a sheets and towels or whites cycle. I'm not sure if I need to use Heavy, Regular or Permanent Press... The alarm on both machines is very low. I bought a timer to let me know when the cycle is close to being finished. However, I believe our clothes are cleaner...thanks to the agitator.
We’ve only had our new Speed Queen washer and dryer for a month. Our first time with Speed Queen products. So far all is great. Do with they offered a few colors besides white. Lots of orange peel in the paint finish.
Haven't had the pair to long but I'm satisfied. I was impressed with the warranty and hope it last 25 years like they say. This is the main reason we purchased the set. I am a little disappointed with the size of the tub.
Absolutely the finest quality washers & dryers on the market. We purchased the TR-7 & DR-7 together and my wife and I love them. My wife says she can wash and dry 3 loads now in the same time it took to finish 1 load with our old machines. I could feel and see the quality of these machines at the first moment of installation. Also, we have seen a drop in our electric bill because these machines are so efficient. I would never buy anything else and they are made in the USA!
