Why didn’t I buy sooner.

We are 3 houses into our marriage and for some reason I really never heard of Speed Queen. We have had Kenmore, GE, LG, and Samsung - some we left in the house we sold when we moved to the next place (active duty Military) while others broke 5-8 years in. So, I’m at a place in life where I went into this washer dryer purchase putting reliability, performance and durability above all other factors. I just started researching “the best” compassion videos, testimonials, went to showrooms, etc. everything led to soled queen. Why didn’t I ever hear of them!? I mean, even if you don’t want to sell at a big box store… you can still run a commercial can’t you Speed Queen??
Anyway, I’m blown away. Clean isn’t even the word. I washed things that my previous washer had an opportunity to clean and it failed too. I’m pulling things out of here that look new! I love them.
Specifically, the dryer dries. I washed and dried 22 king size pillows (2 at a time) and about 14 sets of sheets the week I got these babies. They did not disappoint. I put the setting on “dry” bs “near dry” and my stuff comes out DRY.
ITS ALSO FAST, quiet, and big.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Lint and time concerns

It takes forever to dry the clothes. I feel that there is a design flaw for everytime the machine is finished and I open the door to take out the clothes, some of them are in the lint trap and therefore, have lint on them. Even if they are not in the lint trap, many times they have lint on them. I clean the lint trap after each load, and I have never had this problem with any dryer in my life. This is not a good dryer. It does not dry clothes well, in that it takes at least three times the amount of time, conservatively, to dry clothes than any other dryer I have owner.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Terrible Experience

Me and my wife purchased this dryer and the matching washing machine from a dealer in the Pittsburgh area. We decided to purchase a Speed Queen pair out of frustration of other brands only lasting a few years. We had heard good things about the brand and the selling dealer, so we moved forward with the purchase roughly 30 days ago.
At the time of the purchase the dealer did not inform us that they were not an "authorized" servicer, which latter turned out to be a key detail in the overall transaction and subsequent experience.
The pair was delivered in a reasonable period of time and our old non-working appliances were hauled away. We immediately connected them and started doing laundry. After the second dryer cycle, the dryer stopped drying. I did some basic troubleshooting and was unable to find any fault with my home wiring or vent that would prevent the dryer from heating.
As it was over the weekend, I was forced to wait until Monday morning to contact both the dealer and Speed Queen. I placed a call to the dealer as soon as they opened and explained my situation. I was told by the selling dealer that they are not authorized to service Speed Queen appliances and that my only option was to contact Speed Queen directly. I subsequently contacted Speed Queen and was told I had to contact a authorized provider and was simply given a list of phone numbers.
As it turns out there is only one servicer in a 75 mile radius of my home that was willing to look at my machine and all of the other eight that I called denied me service because I did not purchase my machines from them. The servicer that I identified was nice enough, but admitted up front they were very busy and would get to me as soon as they could.
After nearly a week of back and forth between the dealer and Speed Queen, I was still waiting for service and had laundry piling up. My wife is a nurse and cares for COVID patients and must wash her uniforms on a regular basis. Going several days without a working laundry pair is just not an option. Frustrated and without options, we were forced to purchase a replacement dryer from a big box store.
The servicer I found did eventually come out last week and identified that the circuit board is bad in my unit. He was making arrangements to order a new one but could not give me an ETA and it is up to Speed Queen to provide the parts.
All along I have updated both the dealer and Speed Queen on my dilemma. While I do realize that parts can be defective in even the most expensive items, I was expecting more in service from both the dealer and Speed Queen. When you pay almost 3X for an appliance over the competitors, you have an expectation of service.
As of this writing, I am still waiting for the parts to arrive that will hopefully fix my unit. I am also out the cost of a replacement dryer and 30+ days of use on my expensive Speed Queen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very bad experience

Maybe they come with a 7 year warranty because it need it

Not too happy

I guess I would be happier if my new dryer's thermostat hadn't dropped dead. It was a gift from our son who has one in Texas, when our other Cabrio decided to die. Working one evening and not heating the next morning. It was all of 2 and half weeks old. I'm now very frightened that we have a lemon on our hands.
