We were looking for well-designed machines that would be as close as possible in quality to our 26-year old Maytags that we finally retired. No front-loaders or no-agitator top loaders were even considered - the reviews on them were almost all poor. So far we’ve had our Speed Queens about two months and we are extremely happy with them. I’m an engineer by training and I am picky about purchases like these too. I can’t say one negative thing. They wash and dry well with reasonable cycle times. I believe we have also reduced our water consumption.

I've had my washer and dryer for about a month now and have tried small loads, large, heavy ones, delicates, and regular fabrics. Every load has come out clean and there have been no problems with imbalance. I love the way that you can pick a particular cycle but then adjust all the variations. This is true of the washer and the dryer.
