Great Washer!

After 20 + years of front load washers, after soon to be 6 months, I m very happy with Speed Queen. Many reviewers speak to the inefficiency in the SQ water use. Yes, the washer does use more water, but I ve found it also will accept more laundry. Those who are concerned about there carbon footprint need to consider the carbon footprint of replacement; in the last 20 years, i have replaced 3 sets of front loaders, the last set only lasting 47 months.
I love the following
The factory wash settings. I use them all the time for bulky and whites.

I m embrassed to admit this, but for the first time in 20+ years, my laundry area (and cloths) do not have a mold smell. Countless vinegar/Clorox/cleaning tablets could not eliminate the mold smell.
The washer does an excellent job of cleaning cloths!
As happy as I am with the washer, it does have drawbacks:
If you live in a water challenged area, the additional water is a consideration. Where I live in the Northeast, the issue is not as significant.
A high end front load washer spoils you. Although in my experience, those washers fail sooner, they have features that I miss. I had to relearn to do wash. For example, my unreliable front loader automatically dispersed detergent; now I have to measure (and overfill)
If someone does not have strong hot water heater (we do), the washer does not heat the water to the appropriate temperature.
If a steam wash is important to you (I used it and could not determine a difference), a Speed Queen is not for you.

Overall, i m very happy with the washer. I m not concerned about the noise level or hearing the manual switches go off. I m most concerned about reliability.

My biggest complaint is there is not a dispenser for the laundry detergent. When my salesperson delivered and installed he told me just to pour right on the clothes. I know that is wrong, so I have been adding to the bottom before I add clothes. (if I remember). What does everyone else do??? I am 65 years old and I hope this one will out live me! My last whirlpool washer was only 2.5 years old.

Good but some problems out of the box

Washes clothes well, does leave liquid fabric softener in washer drum at end of cycle (leaving it on clothes) even with extra rinse cycle. Have experienced NF error sporadically and this washer is brand new. Good but not as great as expected from Speed Queen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love this washer, I love that it chooses the water levels needed and there’s so many cycle options! I love that I can set a delay timer and have my laundry run while I’m doing this and know it’s waiting for me to dry at the right time. All the cycle choices have to be what’s most impressive! I can’t wait until I can buy the matching dryer :-) so happy I found this product!

Love this washer

I honestly look forward to doing the laundry since getting my Speed Queen. My old washer took FOREVER to complete a cycle. I can do two loads in the time it took to do one previously. This washer isn't as picky as my old washer about load balance. I still place items of like weight across from each other but some jeans weigh more than others. My old machine would stop, not spin. This machine quietly does the load with no complaints. I can get any temperature or combination of variables I need. It is my favorite washer ever.

The washing machine would not work after 5 months because of a PLASTIC part that the lid must lack into when closed so machine will run. The most used part is plastic!! I hope the replacement holds up longer and was made better. The machine washes great.

The machine is very quiet and can handle large loads. It has an autofill feature so I can use the exact amount of water required per load. My clothes come out clean. The electronic panel is quite chic. Combine all of that with a 7 year warranty and I am absolutely satisfied with my purchase!
