I purchased this washer because it was recommended as long lasting. I am very pleased with my choice. This model has the electronic computer controls. They are easy to use and full-featured. The washer is very quiet and the wash cycles provide for an efficient cleaning. I am an engineer and have serviced my own appliances for years. I opened the front cover of this washer to examine the design. I was pleased to find good, solid engineering. Lots of metal instead of plastic. Solid construction and ease of repair. It is obvious that a lot of time went into the design of this washer. What I saw inside the washer confirmed that the words "Heavy Duty" on the outside were reflected on the components on the inside.

Previous Electrolux Front Loader & Maytag Non Agitator owner. I had my non agitator Maytag for only 2 years! It didn’t was clothes but rather soaked them. Frustrated they were not getting Rinsed properly, I decided to shop. My sales person recommended Speed Queen. I was hesitant about my purchase because I was so disappointed in my other purchases and didn’t want to waste my money. I read reviews, read consumer reports. The salesperson said if you don’t like it, you can return. That right there was huge. I’ve had it for a couple weeks and I absolutely love it! Consumer reports is ridiculous. They rated my previous Maytag higher which is untrue. Are company’s paying these guys off to score a higher rating? I used it and it was garbage as well as many other awful reviews. They have zero credibility in my opinion. This machine is hands down the BEST washer I’ve ever owned. Very happy with my purchase. No fancy curves and colors, but it washes like no other and leaves my clothes soft and thoroughly rinsed! Will only buy and recommend d Speed Queen from now on. The warranty itself should speak volumes! They believe in their product.

I asked my repair guy (he came to fix the fridge) what kind of washer he had in his home. His response was, SPEED QUEEN. I remembered then that Grandma always said her favorite washer was SPEED QUEEN. When my washer broke down, a few months later, I decided SPEED QUEEN was the way to go. I bought a TR7 and have been very happy with it ever since. I deal with lots of wash. Five people live in my home - including an infant. I think my laundry gets cleaner! Fresher. It is very efficient and it works faster. I like that I have time to lift the lid and toss in a forgotten item. I really like the timer on the screen. It's surprisingly convenient to know how much time is on the wash cycle. I am very happy with my SPEED QUEEN washer!

I am so disappointed with what has happened since I made my Speed Queen purchase. This was an expensive purchase for me, but I went ahead because it was so heavily recommended. When using my new machine I had many towels rip to shreds. I noticed Sharp edges on the wash basin and I called repair and I was told the company was aware of a problem with the basins and it would be repaired. The basin was repaired but doing the first wash, the machine was squeeking so I needed another repair visit. This has become exhausting. I do not understand why this machine was permitted to be delivered when the company know about this problem.I hope this purchase was not an expensive mistake.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I Love My New Speed Queen TR7003WN Washing Machine

A little background: I had a basic washing machine (I'll call it my KM) for almost thirty years. It was a fine machine and it cleaned my laundry. I was happy. When that machine finally wore out, I opted to purchase one of the new high-tech, high-efficiency washers (I'll call it my WP) because I wanted to minimize my impact on the environment. Big mistake. That expensive machine with its tiny little impeller did not clean my clothes. I used the special HE detergent as required, but frequently had to wash the laundry twice and run extra rinse cycles too. I ran the special cleaning cycles as prescribed and kept the lid open between uses, but still ended up with mold in the drum and smelly clothes. It was a nightmare. The machine started shutting down with LD and SD codes on a frequent basis. In addition to that, it broke down and had to be repaired three times within the past year. After only eight years of use, it was time to cut my losses and move on.
By comparison, my new Speed Queen TR7003WN is a dream come true. It's quiet and reliable, and best of all, it cleans my laundry without any fuss. The control panel is very well organized and it allows me to input the exact settings I want for any type of load. Energy/water efficiency is excellent, the agitator agitates, and the required wash time is significantly shorter than with my previous machine. What's not to like?!? I'm very pleased with my new Speed Queen washer and my favorable review is my way of thanking the company and its employees for making such and excellent washing machine for me. My hope now is that my machine lives up to Speed Queen's reputation for reliability and durability because I love it and hope to keep it for a long, long time.

Does Not Clean Dirty Clothes!!!!

If you are a family that has kids, and your husband works in a farm, auto repair or any job that gets clothes dirty this is not the washer for you. I wish I would have purchased the TC5 where the lid doesn't lock. This machine just has your clothes floating in the water versus a regular agitation. I am now stuck with machine so please ask the right questions when trying to choose a model.

If that is happening, we'd recommend trying the Auto-fill load size. Auto-fill will ensure there is enough water to wash but not too much water where items could float around. After a decade of front-loading, moldy-boot wash cycles, we decided to buck the trend and go back to the traditional top loader. After two months of washing and drying with the Speed Queen, we are happy with our decision. Clothes are clean, wash cycles are efficient (like the auto water level feature) and no mold!

After struggling with a front load washer (defective right out of the box) and dryer for three years, I decided to go back to a top loader configuration. I went to my local Speed Queen dealer (where I’ve previously purchased other appliances) intending to look at the TC5 Classic washer. However, after talking with the store manager I selected the TR7000 and matching DR7000 gas dryer. Three things sold me on the TR7000. First, he assured me that contrary to “internet chatter” they have not had any customers dissatisfied with the cleaning ability of the TR series washers. Second, he showed me an actual drive shaft from a TR series washer. The piece was massive and beautifully machined. As an engineer with over 40 years experience I could immediately see the high quality and durability of this part. The entire machine felt solid and well engineered. Finally, he said that within the next month he was going to have a TR7000 in his house too. That clinched the deal for me.
Both the washer and dryer work great. I have found that the TR7000 washes just fine and is quite gentle on clothing. In fact, I think it’s even gentler than the front loader that it replaced. If you simply read and follow the instructions, particularly with regards to adding the detergent before adding the clothes you’ll find that it lives up to Speed Queen’s claims and reputation. The auto-fill water level algorithm works beautifully and again it’s obvious that a lot of good research and design went into it. (And yes, I looked up and read the patent publication!) I use that setting almost exclusively. Regardless of the load size the TR7000 has no trouble balancing for spin, which is something that the front loader had issues with, particularly smaller loads.
I'm getting laundry done quicker and without any of the front loader hassle. I am confident that I will get many years of reliable service from this washer and dryer. If a company is willing to step up and back their product with a 10 year factory warranty that speaks volumes for their confidence in their product and its reliability. I feel that Speed Queen has earned my investment in their products.
