When my 9 year old washer died, I decided I wanted to replace it with a washer made in America, one that would perform far longer than 9 years. A friend suggested Speedqueen, so I walked into the downtown store, was "schooled" in the many positive features of this brand and this model, and ordered it within 1/2 hour. It arrived and I decided to try washing our king quilt. It is so large that washing it required using the extra large tumbler washers at the laundromat. I was wary, but pressed start. Within 40 minutes, I pulled out a nearly dry brilliantly white quilt--and was in love. This washer is undaunted by heavy loads, delicates, permanent press--everything comes out easily, untangled, and nearly dry. This is the best washer of the 4 I have owned and with the 10 year full warranty, I have peace of mind. Only American Speedqueen in my future!
Looks like an old Maytag washer, built like a brick youknowwhat house, cleans great. Had a new front load washer, lasted 6 years, which is about how long any of them last due to a design flaw I discovered that they all have. The stainless steel drum is supported by a three pronged cast aluminum “spider bracket” bolted to the back of the drum. A recipe for cathodic corrosion NONE of the manufactures take the step of coating the bracket to prevent this corrosion. Look on line and you will find videos of these things exploding when the bracket fails during a high speed spin. Ours died with a whimper but from the same cause. So front loaders are out as I refuse to buy a new washer every 6 years. The new water saving top loaders have no agitator and just don’t clean your clothes. So, the only thing left is the Speed Queen. Will win no beauty contests but cleans great, energy and water efficient and the best warranty out there. Best build quality and made in the USA! The hands down winner for the thinking man.
Very gentle on the clothes and noticeably less wrinkled coming out of the wash in comparison to my front loader Samsung. The clothes seemed fresher coming out and you definitely do not smell the bad odor out of the washer as our front loader does if you don’t leave the door open. I think this washer works quite well if you want to preserve your clothes in comparison to a conventional agitator washer. You do have to pre-treat your stubborn stains though.
I love the size of the machine and the capacity of what i can wash. The clothes are practically dry when they come out of the machine. Great investment and i hope it lasts the 25 suggested years!!!
It took me a couple of weeks using this washer to understand the differences from my previous washer (an LG) and what washing programs I liked the best. It looks simple but it has many programs plus you can enter three special ones. It does a very good job of cleaning and is relatively quiet when washing.
I have been an appliance salesperson for 17 years period speed Queen makes the best quality products hands down. We do a lot, and I mean a lot of laundry in my household. Children, dogs, cats, etc. This washer is very quiet. As a former speed Queen owner, I was pleasantly surprised with how quiet the operation is. The touch controls are actually much faster and easier to use than the manual controls Believe it or not. Even though we get really dirty, I find the Normal Eco cycle is the one we used most often. We have tried the bulky cycle for blankets and it works very well. as a former speed Queen owner, I was really happy to purchase a new set with a 7-year warranty. I look forward to many many happy years using this unit . Two thumbs up.
I remember speed queen washing machines in the laundry mat when I went with my mom to do laundry. You know it’s a good machine when its been around for a long time and hasn’t made many changes. Truly am proud to say I own a Speed Queen Washing Machine!
