I've had a number of front load washers over the last 25 years. The early ones were awesome. The later ones not so much. My last one was HORRIBLE. We were in a local dealer and spotted the Speed Queen. Looked like a work horse to me and it had options. OPTIONS! Most of the time I do autofill and cold water. But I live and work on a farm. I get dirty. Sometimes really, really dirty. Hydraulic oil, ground in grain dust and grease, the list goes on. I would have to scrub them in my sink and then put them in the frontload "washer". No more! I can run a load of warm or hot water with enough water to actually remove the grime. And an actual agitator!! Things swirl around and get moved through the soap and water. Its a joy! It also works amazingly well on clothes that have been exposed to some really stinky stuff, I'll spare you the details but very, very stinky. Because of the option of using enough water to take care of the situation, I no longer have to throw out otherwise perfectly usable clothes. I recommend this washer to everyone! It doesn't have huge capacity so you're going to have to take your comforter to the laundromat but it holds a good sized load and it will actually get things clean. For the first time in a loooonnnggg time, I'm happy with my laundry!

I have had a Maytag front load washer & dryer as well as a Whirlpool front load washer & dryer in the last 10 years. After having problems with both of them and the fact that your clothes don't get clean I contacted my local appliance retailer & they advised they only use Speed Queen in their own homes. I had heard of the the brand but not for many years. Well, I bought a new set of the Speed Queen w/d and I LOVE THEM! They are quiet, efficient and the clothes and linens look great. Do yourself a favor and buy a set; you won't be sorry.

Great washing machine, started with a minor hiccup. After a few weeks, got an error code. (still was able to wash, but had to unplug to clear the code) Called Speed Queen customer service, they provided name of local repair shop and the needed part. Washer was fixed in 20 minutes, and has been perfect ever since. Washes great, much quieter and better balanced than 28 year old Maytag it replaced.
