I hesitated spending so much on a washing machine but I'm glad I did.
My old machine was a HE machine that I don't believe it ever cleaned my clothes properly.
I was torn between the TC5 and this one as I didn't want the touch panel but I ultimately picked this one, even though there are more options than I'll ever need.
I randomly go check on it as it's soooo quiet.
A washing machine that will probably out live me.

It’s been a few months since we’ve owned our speed queen washer. I must say it’s amazing. Our clothes have never felt anymore cleaner, the wash is extremely quiet that sometimes we forget we even have a load in the washer. It’s completely worth the price.

Expected Better

Plastic lid lock broke after about 3 months. Required me to disassemble and fix myself. Thank goodness for YOUTUBE. Must be a known defect. Not under warranty? Why? Drilled holes for screws countersunk them and repaired myself.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The manufactuer's warranty covers all parts and labor to repair a failure that results from a defect in material or workmanship, when completed by an authorized servicer. We do not expect or recommend anyone to repair the machine themselves during the warranty period! Right machine at the right time. Previously Speed Queen needed new motor. Decided to go with a new model for the warranty.

It uses only about a tablespoon of liquid oxi clean soap. Has a large enough tub for weeks washing for 2 of us. We bought this one for 7 year warranty. We had Maytag centiennal washer top of line before but they do not make them anymore. So chose this one which about same price with inflation from 12 years ago. We are hoping this will last us that long.
