Our old GE washer did not handle hardly any clothes without becoming unbalanced and walking all over the laundry room. We were afraid it would pull the water lines loose. This TR7 Speed Queen handles large loads great and is very quiet. No grinding and moaning noises like the GE. The TR7 also has plenty of load and water control options and will actually cover the clothes with water. The GE used so little water that sometimes the clothes had undissolved soap on them after washing, and that was on the "Heavy Duty and Deep Fill" settings. Love this machine!!!!!

Simple is better

I'm excited about my washer (which is sort of sad commentary on life, but it's true). I battled with a popular LG model for years, and it started to disintegrate with rust past the point of usability. It ruined clothes. I decided to invest in something much more durable, and every repairman and appliance person was unanimous on Speed Queen. I had never heard of it, but you cannot ignore the advice of professionals who spend their entire lives fixing or selling appliances. So I bought it. I was charmed by the more mechanical dials of the less expensive model, but I opted for the T7 purely for extended warranty purposes. I want a product that the manufacturers are so confident about that they will stand behind it for years. So far, so good. Quick, easy, no fuss, and unless I'm suffering from some sort of confirmation bias, I swear my clothes (particularly my whites) are cleaner. It's not a fancy looking machine, but somehow that is what I like most about it. Kind of takes me back to those laundromat days of college. The solid thunk of the metal lid closing. I'm definitely shifting into the less is more, simple is better phase of life.

I absolutely love this washer! I fought with another washer for nine years, there was nothing wrong with it except it never used enough water! Hated it every time I used! Energy saving? How could it be, saved on water but took 128 minutes per cycle! Now, I look forward to using my new Speed Queen. I like it as well as my 1976 era Kenmore, when they made machines to last. (Like a fool, I sold it with the house.) Nobody is ever going to get my Speed Queen washer!

Bought Speed Queen because of the absolutely great reviews going back years. We do ALOT of laundry and other brands have fallen short of expectations as the machines get broken in. So far, my laundry task has been made easier and given higher quality results than the previous washer.

We needed a new washer and were very tired of the previous washers breaking down every couple of years, plus doing a less than satisfactory job at cleaning. After I did quite an extensive amount of research, taking me several weeks, we decided to bite the bullet and pay the price of a new Speed Queen TR7. We feel that you pay what you get for and we were happy to contribute to our own 'buy Made in America' whenever possible. The machine is ultra quiet, cleans very well, has many cycles, water levels and temps, soil levels and more to choose from. Don't let the 3.7cf size fool you. I am able to wash my king size cotton comforter in there with a couple of pillow cases thrown in. I cannot think of anything that I would change. I am a "baby boomer". I grew up during an era when things were made to last and they were made in the USA where the manufacturers and the employees had to live up to their product. I really like the Speed Queen because it checks all these boxes as well. Currently, we are not in need of the dryer, but when that comes up, we plan to buy a Speed Queen dryer. Oh! forgot to mention, it comes with a 7 year warranty!

A washer that lives up to it’s promises! Smarter than the competition, this washer has an “auto-fill” setting that actually adds enough water to complete the cycle without damage to the clothes. Clothes are truly clean and they rinse thoroughly clean too—no more soap residue—no more back-wash. I don’t use fabric softener anymore—don’t need to with this washer.
The controls are easy to use, easy to understand, logical! Quiet running unit, no more “off balance” problems. Cycles complete very quickly.
Having an agitator I thought would create a problem for washing coats, but coats wash up very nicely in this machine; just place two in at a time for balance and don’t overload the machine. I placed one large coat and one smaller jacket in a load and it worked perfectly. The simple design of the agitator is so gentle on clothes and still very efficient. Makes doing laundry fun.

Not what I was hoping for.

I have had my TR7. now for about 2 months. It cleans clothes pretty good. The two complaints I don't like are that the lid locks and the water will stop flowing and I can't rinse the soap residue out from the cap. The other thing I don't like is there really is no good cycle for Normal everyday wear like t shirts. They say not to use the Normal eco cycle because it just sprinkles water. So what cycle do I use? I do like the fact that the machine has many options. It can hold a king size blanket and wash it with no problem. One thing I did notice is that clothes don't come out as dry as they should after a wash. They are wetter than usual after a wash. At least it has a 7 year warranty.
