Great washing machine, BUT

The washing machine is very sturdy and cleans clothes really well. The only design flaw is with the lid locking device. It is very easy to break the plastic locking mechanism. Mine broke within three months. I went on line and there are numerous sites that talk about the problem, how to temporarily fix it, etc. Fortunately the part and replacement were under warranty and it was taken care of. I am sure a redesign where the assembly is attached better so that pressure doesn't break the plastic assembly could be an easy upgrade.

A perfect washing system for me!

After owning both front loaders and HE top loaders that disappointed with long cycle times and out of balance loads.... I finally have the answer to my washing woes. This TR7 has been a wonderful washing machine! The most important issue for me was finding a suspension system that was substantial enough not to get out of balance, vibrate and/or try to rebalance for over an hour. (And I always kept my past machines level and did not overload them.)
Yes, for me it does use more water and has added about 10 mins average drying time to my loads compared to a past front loader, but a small price to pay in my book.
I wish I had purchased a Speed Queen earlier!

Has a great reputation

After using the washer for two weeks, the lid lock failed with a load of laundry in it. Took six days to get a service man out there to find out that the plug that connected the switch for the lid lock had vibrated loose. The unit functions well although I’m waiting for something else to break because of that Early failure. I’m not sure about their design as far as wiring, harness and quality control.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
