Works well, but very noisy

This washing machine probably cost more than all of the other washers we have ever bought put together. We bought the top-of-the-line digital control model. It works well, but every time the water shuts off during a rinse cycle or fill cycle, there is a loud clunk noise that we can hear all through the house. A service tech came out to look at it and told us it was the valve in the washer that shut off so hard it sent loud clinking noises through the water pipes in the house. Obviously, this is a poor design that needs to be fixed. We have never had a washing machine that made any noise like that. I am beginning to wish we had bought one that was much less expensive that would probably not make that noise.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Some Issues

Problem getting clean clothes. Have a soft water system and the clothes are not getting all that clean. Have doubled the recommended detergent amount. Any recommendations for best detergent?

Told by our repair man it should last for 20 years with no problems. Too many appliances are poorly made. Glad to buy high quality American made.

I love everything about this unit. I would tell the Speed Queen company to please produce all the manuals for washer use, care and maintenance on Youtube as video assistance. Demonstrating the principles you espouse for use of your life time lasting machines would REALLY boost your product appreciation.

I had a whirlpool front loader. Junk.
Top loaders many advantages in design over front loaders. You will not get mold. Clothes cleaner. Delicate and hand wash settings are great. Using more water in a cycle not an issue I use low level. Water economy versus front loader is offset by cycle time running way less than most front loaders on market. Its quite yet so well made! A linebacker with touch.

Heavy Duty and Quality Machines

Enjoy the ease of use and ability to wash clothes with plenty of water. Controls give me lots of flexibility for the type of laundry being washed. I also wanted more rugged machines that focused on longevity as well as cleaning. Durable and quiet getting the job done.
