I ran the 220volt! , installed this unit in the best window and run it every day! Much cheaper than my central air which is broken but not a throw away , This cools my entire living spaces , I have a smaller unit in the master bedroom that runs at night and the rest of the house doesn't have and doesn't need AIR BECAUSE WE ARE ONLY TWO PEOPLE LIVING IN THE HOUSE

Gets Iced up too easy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a Renter. Landlord installed 2 years ago. Maintenance/Cleaning is a Pain. Needs Screen Cleaning every 2 weeks! That Sucks. Should be longer period. The thing Iced-up almost pushing the front screen out. Told the Landlord. He said the back and Coils need a Hose Blast of a Water Hose every 2 years. Waiting him to come by next Tuesday. I have it set to 70° as always. Maybe it won't Ice-Up again.

Howard lets do some troubleshooting to fix the WIFI issue that you are experiencing. A key reminder is that your air conditioner supports a 2.4 GHz and NOT a 5Ghz. You also want to check whether or not your appliance is too far from the router. Next, if your firewall on your wireless router is enabled, you need to either disable the firewall or add an exception to it. Also if the security protocol of the router is set to WEP, you may fail to set up the network. Please change it to WPA2 is what is recommended and register it again. Lastly your phone and your appliance need to be on the same WIFI network prior to installing and using the ThinQ app. If you are still having an issue connecting, please send us a private message on Facebook or Twitter using @LGUSSupport and include #VOC, your name and model # and we would be happy to troubleshoot the issue or set up repair if needed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My small French Quarter condo had two really old units, I replaced them with two of these. What a difference! I haven't used the AC function yet but the heat is great. Installation is relatively simple although I had to run to the hardware store for a few strips of 1x3's (brand new ACs aren't designed for 175 year old window lol). Absolutely spend the few extra dollars for the Wifi connection, it takes a second to connect but isn't hard, and being able to control them independently from the phone app while in bed, like a super expensive dual zone system is the coolest! Not having a drain line is a big plus for me (I have a downstairs neighbor), hopefully the 'slinger impeller' can keep up with the South Louisiana humidity this summer.
