I love the wifi feature a lot making it easy to control the ac unit from anywhere. I use this in the downstairs part of my house which is a pretty large space. So far I will say that it does an excellent job keeping my home cool. Love the fact it has a remote control which also makes it easy to adjust. Will definitely recommend to everyone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being a Floridian I have a large, 429 sqft Florida Room with insulated roof and vinyl windows. For about half the year this is awesome and if the room gets a little warm you can just open the windows but from Late May through Late September it’s just too hot and humid. We had been looking for a good AC for this room and the LG 18,000 BTU Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Window Air Conditioner looks like it is going to fit the bill perfectly! I had tried a smaller 9,000 BTU unit and it struggles too much with the mid-summer heat but this beast of an AC doesn’t even break a sweat!
Packaging/In the Box – Upon opening the box I found the AC to be very well packaged/protected, this was a concern of mine due to the size and weight of the unit itself. Removing the unit from the box/packaging was easy with some help, I highly suggest using two people for the entire unboxing and removal as this unit does weigh over 100lbs. Included with the unit are the instructions, the AC unit itself, a remote control, two PE foam strips, the left and right curtain panels, and install hardware.
Installation/Setup – Installation was easy with the instructions being very straight-forward. I love the fact that this is a “slide in unit” which allows you to slide off the outer shell, make the installation and then slide in the unit once that process is complete. I know most installs are done window height through a double hung window but for my application we did install at ground level in a panel on the side of the Florida room. Note this install method is not supported but worked with little modification for my needs. This unit is Wi-Fi enabled and can be controlled via the ThinQ app and can be integrated with Google or Alexa. In my case we integrated with my Google Home setup. App install and Google integration was as easy as expected for a current smart device.
Use – The on-board controls for the unit are as expected for basically any AC and resemble those for a central AC unit. The remote control is pretty basic and includes controls for power, temperature, Fan speed, Timer and Mode. Personally, I control the unit via Google home or the ThinQ app. In the two days we have been using the unit we have had a temperature of 93 and 91 and the LG AC has kept our Florida room to a very comfortable 74 without having to stay constantly running!
My Final thoughts on the LG 18,000 BTU Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Window Air is that this is a huge winner for me and anyone wanting a smart window AC. The ease of install, the quality of the unit itself and finally the easy Google home integration make this sheer perfection. Thank you LG!!!!
