Installed a new, out of the box, LW1821ERSM and it stopped running within 24 hours. Electronics in cover defective. Tested with cover from another new unit and ran perfectly. Have now been in a que for warranty service for almost a month. Have used LG window units for over a decade in 25 residential units and have had warranty problems before. I am not very encouraged based on past experience.

Since installing it, I haven't had to worry about vegetables spoiling in the summer heat one bit. The AC unit runs quietly and efficiently and I'm always surprized at how cool the cooler is!

Cheap plastic cover produces loud noise
