They don't make them like they used to!

My LG washer was slowing giving out after 10 years of going strong. We choose this washer based on reference from a good friend. Washers aren't made like they used to be, that's for sure! This washer grinded on the wash cycle making a hole in the floor where is was digging. My loads weren't oversized in any means, not even half of what I washed in the same size tub with the LG. After replacing the parts once, they went out again within 2 weeks, and we ended replacing it with a front loader.
The features on the washer were great. I liked the smart detergent feature too. I was optimistic for this appliance!

Too smart for me or it's poorly designed

I really want to love this machine, but I'm often frustrated. I've read the manual and still don't get it. These are my complaints:
- When the load gets out of balance, there is no notification. When I come down to flip the laundry, the sensor panel looks like everything is fine; however, when I open the lid, the clothes are soaked. The manual says to just hit drain and spin when this happens, but I have no idea where in the cycle it got stuck - after the wash or after the rinse (I think older washers used to have a short spin after the wash and before the rinse - maybe not true anymore, but couldn't find that info), so I'm worried the load wasn't rinsed.

- I always have to use an extra rinse cycle when I use powdered detergent - even when sorting the clothes well and using the no-tangle setting. I am using the correct amount and drawer as far as I can tell.
- The default pre-programmed settings leave the clothes very wet - so I have to play with all the settings every time - eg: Choose "Normal" - reduce the heat a bit, adjust the dirt level if necessary, and maximize the spin. It's just annoying - I may be able to set my preferred settings like the Profile dryer does, but I can't figure that out.
- I'm thinking if I could connect it to Alexa, I might get the notifications I'd like (like load done, load out of balance...) but the directions for connecting it to wifi just lead to this page to purchase the machine where I conveniently found this place to review!
I do like the laundry success tips in the quick guide about reducing lint contamination - so there is that.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
