It's too smart for it's own good.

We've had this for 2 day. The instructions manual is terrible. We have yet to figure out how to get the fabric softener to dispense. There seems to be no way to tell if soap has been dispensed from the bulk reservoir. Have yet to see any suds during the wash cycle. At start up, on default water level, there are some articles are still dry when the machine goes into soak mode. Almost NO guidance on what how to get the so called smart dispenser to dispense additives like oxiclean or vinigar. Only where to put it. It appears it's never dispensed. searching for help on-line is no help. I've owned GE washers for 60 years. This is the first one that seems to required an engineering degree to operate.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

difficult machine to control. uses a bare minimum of water so not sure clothes getting totally clean -and there is a soap film left on most. the load is often unbalanced and it takes FOREVER for the spin to stop and the lid to unlock.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi, and thanks for taking time to leave a review. Seeing less water in your washer can be concerning, but we can assure you this is normal. This particular unit is a high efficiency washing machine, meaning the system requires less water while still providing effective cleaning action. Please note that some cycles on this unit use a two-stage wash fill. During these cycles the first stage will have a lower water level than the second stage. More information can be found in the Use and Care manual.

Poor performance

This is my second impeller washer. Like my other washer, it does not remove detergent from certain items which then need rewashed. This washer allows you to select extra rinse and deep rinse. But I am still running clothes through another cycle w/out detergent. I measure my detergent. I use the dispenser. Select warm for most loads. Nothing helps. Different fabrics can be affected. And certainly is obvious with dark loads.

Disappointing

Control panel appears defective. Lights remain on and unable up make setting selection without unplugging and resetting before each load. Only had for two weeks.

We recommend resetting your washer by disconnecting power from the unit for 2 - 3 minutes and reconnecting power. If this reset does not revert the unit back to normal operating function, this will require service by a qualified technician. Lots of features!

Tons of features. Still figuring them all out. Beautiful machine...that's why I chose it. Gets clothes clean. Door was broke when delivered and did not soft close so repair man had to come back to replace new door. Now it sounds like a gunshot everytime it locks so not sure that's normal. Machine overall soooo much louder than the LG it replaced :( Love the feature you can dump detergent in tank and not have to worry bout that evertiime. I do evertiime have to amp up spin cycle when pressing Normal wash because it automatically goes to lowest spin setting and clothes still dripping.

poor use of smart tech

worked for 18months . Stops half way thru every wash even tried it empty . Lots of excuses and tried every fix . I'll be buying a washer with no smart tech next time

Horrible!

I've owned this washer less than 6 months and have had 5 service calls. One of the main features I purchased this for was the large reservoir for detergent. I've had to replace this and a sensor twice and it STILL doesn't work. The lid randomly broke completely off and then the lock mechanism broke. All of the features of this washer are made with cheap plastic.
