I have had this mattress for over two years now and I am in need of a new mattress, quite frankly, any mattress besides this one. About one year after purchasing this mattress my sleep quality declined. My back is constantly in pain and my wife can not stand this mattress. If your looking for a cheap mattress to get you by for about a year or so then maybe you could purchase this or just sleep on a piece of crappy foam both are the same.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This Tuft & Needle original king mattress is perfect in every way for both my husband and me. We were a bit worried that it would be too firm, since we are both side sleepers, but it has turned out to be exactly the right firmness. Not too firm, but very supportive and comfortable. Not too soft. Just right!
We have been sleeping on it for a couple of months now and are completely happy with it. We've had two other foam mattresses and this is by far the best one. Also, there was no smell at all when we opened the packaging. Great quality. We would absolutely recommend this to others.
