After four previous online mattress purchases, the Tuft & Needle original is finally the one for us! Previously we had tried a hybrid medium with memory foam, hybrid firm with memory foam (with and without a topper), hybrid firm with latex, and an all latex mattress with adjustable firmness layers. All of them had left us with back pain and poor quality sleep.
We were pleasantly surprised that we both liked the T&F from the beginning as I prefer medium and my spouse prefers firm. It seems to be just right for both of our needs.
We have been sleeping great since getting this mattress and are so pleased with it. Two friends also recently bought it based on our recommendation and they love it as well.
We have had the mattress for three months now. I wanted to wait a while before we gave it a review. The best way I can describe this mattress is that it feels “delicious” to crawl into every night.
I’m so grateful it’s Greenguard Gold Certified too. That was really important to us after we learned how toxic most memory foams are.
We will be getting this mattress for our guest rooms as well when the current mattresses in those rooms are ready to be replaced.

I wouldn’t get this if you are a stomach sleeper. It’s too soft and my hips sink in and my spine is then out of alignment. I have scoliosis so a mattress with support and alignment is important. All the reviews said this mattress is good for stomach sleepers, but I would disagree adamantly. I’m also “normal” weight and 5’8 and 135 pounds so I didn’t think I would sink in. It didn’t work for my husband either who’s primarily a back and side sleeper. He also felt his hips sank in too much. We both woke up every morning with achy backs - mine was particularly bad. I’m giving this 3 stars because of the excellent customer service and easy return process.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
