Poor design on valve at bottom of drip basket. The spring loaded valve is prone to catching on carafe lid and has broken once in the first weeks of use. This is the valve that allow for removal of the carafe while the coffee is still brewing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So far I like this coffee maker and have only one complaint. The water level window is located on one side only and is very inconvenient for my placement on the counter. It brews good coffee and is easy to use.

I like most everything about it but it has the same problem it has always had. Access to the fill location for fresh water is very tight. The way the lid is designed, it makes it difficult to add water to the coffee maker. And since it is important to add the correct amount of water, it has a big impact on the quality of the coffee which is brewed.

Pros are that it makes good coffee and basic touch-screen operation is simple. Also, carafe and filter basket are interchangeable with my previous model. The only cons for me are that auto-start is cumbersome, and you cannot activate the cleaning cycle until the cleaning light comes on. With my old machine, I could activate the cycle at any time. Otherwise, I am happy with the machine.

Have used cuisines for years. One con that I always felt was that the water holder cover doesn’t flip back far enough to pour all your water from the pot into it. And on this specific 14 cup model that I have it has a major knocking noise when brewing. I may try to exchange for another one and hope I don’t have the same issue. Otherwise it’s a great product and I would definitely purchase again.
