Bought this coffee maker on recommendation of Consumer Reports. This is the third Cuisinart coffee maker I've owned over the years and I have not been disappointed! The last one lasted four years. The quality is terrific, and so is the coffee.

This does everything one would expect and is easy to use, except that when you brew, the button you push illuminates “Off”. I switched from the KitchenAide siphon. The coffee is not as good as with a siphon pot, but KitchenAid doesn’t make the top part that breaks anymore and no one, I could find, makes a siphon pot with more than 50 oz of fluid.

Makes good coffee and, once programmed, is easy to use. Controls, however, are not intuitive - use the manual for set-up. The extra two cups are a godsend when the kids come home to visit. Nice touch to use a clear side gauge for water fill. Earlier models had a stairstep gauge inside the water fill compartment and it was hard to see and use.

A little awkward to pour water into the resevoir. The lid to the resevoir doesnt allow the carafe to pour completely withouth changing positions. A couple of times the bean basket didnt sit correctly in the bin and caused problems and overflow of basket. Once we got used to these quirks, it makes great coffee.

The coffee quality is a huge step up from my last maker (using the same beans). Very simple and easy interface. My complaints would be, it’s a pain to fill the reservoir: narrow opening and having the water meter on the side is not convenient. Also, they included a water filter, which broke the first time I attempted to open it.
