Not clearly explained in the instruction manual

The nameless Power symbol (Bottom-right of the screen) lights up the touch-screen, EXCEPT it is disabled when the coffee is perking, or having finished perking, the carafe heating pad is on.
When making coffee make sure the filter basket is fully engaged by pushing down on the little handle of the basket until it clicks. Failure to do this, the coffee will not flow into the carafe, and you will have a big mess!
To start the perking, push & hold BREWOFF/AUTO OFF (Counterintuitive name!) until it brightens and starts blinking. After blinking for a few seconds it will blink dimly as the coffee perks, then stays lighted while the carafe heat is on .
The AUTO ON is programmed to 7:30 AM. Feel free to change it – read the instructions. If you are OK with this time, press & hold AUTO ON until it brightens as does the set time. It then blinks for about 5 seconds, then remains bright, indicating that it is set to go.
These instructions are directed at family & friends using our summer cottage when we are not there. I figured them out during the first week of using the device. It makes good coffee and maintenance has been easy so far.

I have seen other 14 cup coffee makers for half of this price. I haven’t seen anything on this one that would command double the money. Overall it works fine though.

great reliable basic coffee maker. However, difficult to fill the reservoir with water if using the carafe, since it hits the raised lid before the carafe is empty. I also find the touchscreen unsatisfying. Often have to touch the icons several times to make them engage.

I wish the water level was on the opposite side, it’s hard to see the water level where I have it located. Could be designed with it on both sides. Works great otherwise.

We purchased the Touchscreen 14-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker as a replacement for our nearly 10 year old DP-1200 Brew Central which, sadly, had sprung a leak. This replacement is user-friendly and brews a quality pot of coffee. We were apprehensive about the touchscreen but, so far, it makes brewing a large, or small amount of coffee a breeze. We really like the ability to choose regular or bold brew and 1-4 cups at a time. Customer service was helpful in the ordering process.

Great replacement coffee maker. Love the touch screen and the clock feature - much easier to read than my previous Cuisinart. The setup was almost intuitive, only minor differences to the way it works from my previous coffee maker. I like the automatic start function which allows you each time to see and set the time it's to start (great when you have a flexible schedule). GREAT COFFEE and great features like the variable temperature for keeping the coffee hot. I'm definitely looking forward to a LOOONG association with this, like my previous one, which was handed down to someone else and is still running!!!
