I'm sorry to hear the dehumidifier is louder than you expected. Sometimes, the sound can be affected by the surface it's placed on or the fan speed setting.

Quiet Operation

Pushed to give review with only two day use to get extended 2 month warranty from manufacturer. That said, it appears to work with easy setup and quiet enough operation.
I would recommend this to a friend!
