I had trouble with Microsoft OneDrive. When I disabled OneDrive, it dumped all my pictures into the recycle bin. Fortunately, I had the pictures saved on an external drive, which I used to place the pictures in the Pictures Folder. No problem, but it is problematic that OneDrive software decided to delete things on its own.
This PC is much lower quality than the HP PC I had to replace. The materials used to build it seem very flimsy. I hesitate to use the CD drive for fear of breaking it. I don't expect this PC to last 13 years like my previous PC.
I'm not a power user or gamer -- just a 75-yr-old guy who exchanges email, surfs the web for news, and maintains a couple of WordPress websites.
My old Windows 7 computer was giving me fits -- slow, slower, even slower; crashed.
Bought this one after a week of research and am very happy. -- Ordering process was smooth. -- Delivery was fast -- two days after order. -- Set up was simple. I had saved my documents and photos to thumb drives, so, they moved over easily. I had five applications on CD that installed without a problem.
The product I purchased works great. It is fast and quiet. The 2 TB drive is large enough for anything I will use the computer for. I did not rate it a 5 star because of the CD/DVD drive which I find to be flimsy and inconvenient. The vertical design means that if the computer is placed on your left, you can not see where the disk locking slot is. If I try to do it by feel the whole drawer seems to be unstable and requires you to stand up, use both hands and lock the disk in place. If you place the computer on your right, you can see the disk locking slot, but still have the feel that the drawer is not stable. Another issue is the 256GB SSD drive. I am not sure at this point if it is good or bad. The C drive is named windows and the D drive is named data, however every app you install goes to the C drive. Is there going to be a time when the drive needs more space to do what microsoft does during updates and installation?
I bought this and took two days to install programs. All the while it occasionally would freeze. Then it started crashing including the deadly blue screen. I returned this and had to buy a different product because it was out of stock. I am hesitant now to use HP computers especially if the new one needs a lot of work. The Pavilion required bios update on startup. Wow. Faulty production.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The computer loses the wifi connection every 15 minutes. I can't seem to fix it and it's driving me crazy. It also can't handle a lot of apps running without having a memory issue. I can't be productive on this computer and it's a big disappointment, especially for the cost of it. This should have been a nice, fast computer but I don't like it at all. Can I return it?
Pleasantly surprised that the Optical Drive works. I knew there was a space for the Drive made available, however I was pleasantly surprised to find I could play a CD on it. This is the preferred method to back up my PC, rather than in the "Cloud." I don't like Windows 11 too much. It's intrusive and nosey. Some ok features but it will take me some time to get used to the new Windows OS.
how do I contact HP ... can't find any way of contacting them. My new computer continually stops working and there doesn't seem to be any help available
