I bought this bag to replace my original one which had been overly damaged by the airlines. This new one shows design improvement over the original as it has added a bottom handle which serves as a support when standing up.

I looked everywhere for the drop bottom duffle. I finally searched High sierra and you had it back.
I tried to find one back in 2022 for a graduation gift and it was no longer available. I am so glad it is back. I have had one for over 10 years and it was finally showing wear. This is narrower and taller. I expect it to last.

Great zippers, water resistant, decent wheels

Sturdy zippers, has 2 spacious compartments, and 2 side zippers. I like the clasps to strap down the bottom section too. I sewed a path onto the front for decoration which was hard, as the material is thick strong! That's a good thing. My only complaint is when my bag was 40lbs, if I rolled over cobblestone or turned a corner at a fast walking pace, the bag would rotate and flip over. I would still choose this bag over any other rolling duffel anyday. I chose this one instead of a 4 spinner wheel hardshell because it's less likely to crack, water resistant, and can compress for storage at home when Im not using it. Oh and I also like the exterior straps to tighten and compress it while transporting.

Good bag, but some issues

I bought bag two years ago and have used iton several trips. A good bag for non-airline travel, but I’ve had several issues I think related to baggage handling. First, the carry the top carry straps have a Velcro closure and tends to come apart. I have a made smaller Velcro strap that I wrap around the handle to keep it secure. Also, the wraparound baggage straps tend to come loose during travel. Finally, the main zipper has separated from the bag at one of the corners. Doesn’t look like this can be repaired so I will have to trash this bag. I had a similar but larger High Sierra duffel that I used for 15 years previous and it seemed to built a little more durable.
