Strong machine with a learning curve

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initially I thought this juicer was defective. I spent over 2 hours trying to get it to turn on. Looked up troubleshooting, videos, read and reread the instructions, took it apart and put it back together 20 times. Only after I frustratedly put all my peeled fruits and veggies in the fridge and emailed the company did it suddenly work. I think turning it on its side to find the model number shifted the magnet that tells it to turn on. Once it finally worked, it worked great! Surprisingly quiet, and it made some tasty healthy juice quickly and efficiently. It is a beast of a machine when it works! Seems like this is a somewhat common problem though. Cleaning was not too bad, since the parts are dishwasher safe, but there are a lot of pieces to wash.

This Juicer is a Powerhouse and Makes Delicious Healthy Juice!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, to start with, if you're not familiar with juicing/juicers there's a learning curve. There are a lot of moving parts with this juicer, as with all of them pretty much. Once you've figured out where everything goes, it's not as difficult as it looks to disassemble for cleaning and then reassemble. In fact, it seems pretty easy to me. Taking it apart once and I understood where everything went for quick and easy assembly. Just make sure the auger is seated properly or the juicer won't turn on.
I like the fact that this is a slow masticating (which means chewing) juicer. In other words, it doesn't heat up as it is grinding your fruit and vegetables because it does it slowly, like the food is being "chewed" , so it preserves more nutrients & phytonutrients from the produce you're using.
Let's face it, produce is expensive! Consuming healthy foods/ nutrients is the main reason that I juice in the first place. This juicer helps to convert those foods to a more "bioavailable" form that the body can then use more efficiently.
I look at it from the perspective that the juicer starts the process of breaking down and "chewing fresh fruits and veggies in a super-healthy way so that my body can better absorb the nutrients of fresh produce!

This little juicer is a powerhouse! I was worried about overheating, as it's not a big juicer and I like to use lots of fibers, hard vegetables like beets, carrots and celery. I was pleasantly surprised! This juicer powered through everything I " stuffed" into it and stayed cool as a cucumber! (Pun intended)
However, it definitely performed better when I cut harder, more fibrous vegetables into about 1 inch or so pieces, before inserting it down the chute for juicing.
It does have a bit of difficulty if you try to insert whole stalks of hard roots veggies like carrots, but it will manage to chew through those as well, just a little more difficult. It really doesn't take a second to chop up veggies to throw in the shoot, so that's what I do.

The resulting juice was delicious and thicker than my old "hot" juicer that gradually used to get so hot it was virtually cooking the fresh produce if I tried to juice a large amount.
Not the Omega juicer! It stayed cool and while it's a little slower, I don't mind that, when I know the juice that comes out will be so much better for me!

The two, fairly large pitchers that come with the juicer are sooo handy! Not only do they hold 28 oz, there are two of them designed so that they easily fit under both chutes. Nothing gets spilled or wasted! I actually just stick a straw in and drink my juice right from the pitcher instead of pouring it into a glass. My friend says I'm a "savage." Ah well, to each her own....

The juice was so fresh and delicious! It tasted like it "squeezed and chewed" every little last bit of the healthy parts of the produce I used which is what I want in a juicer!
The resulting pulp was pretty dry, which told me that it was very efficient at extracting every last drop of juice!

It's a handy little tool to help clean the strainer and access bits of debris/pulp that might be in the chutes.
After you're done juicing, my advice is to quickly take apart and rinse all the parts in warm water before you drink your juice. It doesn't take a minute and it makes cleaning a breeze.
You definitely don't want to allow the leftover pulp etc to dry, which can make cleaning much more difficult. You can quickly take apart and rinse all the parts and be done. It doesn't take too much cleaning if you do it immediately.
If you wait, not only will it be more difficult, it may cause buildup in the machine that could affect performance and efficiency. Just take apart and rinse and then... ENJOY YOUR DELICIOUS, NUTRITIOUS JUICE!

Kinda hard to clean
