Second Childhood Dream

This is a super-cool collaboration, concept & execution. The science behind making this thing work as a functional transformer is still mind boggling but the end result is a SOLID model. The legs in particular are really solid and well worth the two days it took this novice to build it. Glad to have this as part of my collection.
My only gripe is I can’t seem to get the jet pack on and the piece tends to separate at the waist when I try to transform him so I’ve actually yet to get him in vehicle mode as it just gets too frustrating & I’d rather leave well enough alone. I’m not sure if I did something wrong during build or just natural for a Lego. Despite that I totally love it and plan on getting an acrylic case to display it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I know that this comment is very common for this item but for me as a huge Transformers G1 and LEGO fan, this LEGO set was something I was dreaming during my childhood!
The Figure and Truck looks awesome and I hope so that you will create at least Soundwave, Bumblebee... Unfortunatelly I have to mention that stability of this set is very debatable...
If you want to move figure leg part with the red light brick is always disassembles, if you want to place Ion Blaster in Optimus hand, hand has an issue to keep the position and hand is falling down...
I do not have an issue to change it into a truck like lot of fans and it is acceptable (not more) for me.

I wrote to LEGO couple years ago if they would have a transformers LEGO and they said NO! Won’t get into details why, but here we are now with Optimus Lego! Overall I think price and build is fair. Got to understand when they partner with another company they must get a fair share. Design and execution looks great and I want to thank the creators behind it! Now Gundam needs to partner up with Lego!

Ignore any negative comments on this set! It’s epic! It transforms really well and looks amazing in both forms! I loved this set so much I designed and built him a trailer! Which was mega fun on top of it! Highly recommend!!!

Was so excited to built this set. The build started off fun, but as it went on, it became more disappointing. The design has a lot of flaws and seems like there is not enough support built in to it as it falls apart about every time I pick it up. The top part of the body comes off at the slightest touch. As you try to put it back together, more pieces fall off. If you do get it transformed, it looks awful. I've built larger sets before, but this is the first one I have had this much trouble with. For the price point, I would have expected better.

Flimsy - do not try to transform

If by transform, Lego meant "falls apart the minute you touch it", then they nailed it. It's not bad looking and I was skeptical of its ability to actually transform and I was right. It's barely held together at the waist, so it just breaks the minute you try to move it. As a piece to put on a shelf, it's fine. Except, his head is very, very tiny.

Optimus should be able to transform smoothly. Some rebuilding might be needed. Make sure all the parts are tightly pressed together. If you need help with the build, reach out to us at LEGO.build/Service-BV.

Optimus prime

I have all of the Lego creator and technic sets and I have to say this is the worst fitting together kit I’ve have ever experienced. When folded up it just flops around gaps won’t close correctly. Try to pick it up and parts start falling off. I love Lego and will keep my collection growing but in the future I wish it were more sturdy. Cool model don’t get me wrong but probably would have been better if it were technic with more pins and beams to lock together better…. just my opinion

If your set seems like it's not very sturdy, the best thing to do is double-check your build. Sometimes there may be a piece just a little off from where it should be.
