Please Do More Transformers

Lego Transformers has been a want in the Transformers Community for a long time and this product very much delivers that want; however, there needs to at least be a Megatron to go with him. The build was a little long but that's to be expected for an Expert build. The two biggest flaws are that he has no knees and his feet don't stay together in one piece. Having knees on such a big build would be difficult and have it be stable so that's understandable and the problem with the feet can be fixed the parts given in the set which I fixed easily. This is probably my favorite Lego set ever and I really would like a Megatron to go with him.

More than meets the eyes!

Growing up in the 80s, The Transformers consumed a huge portion of my toy collection. I loved the cartoon series and would often pretend to be a Transformer as I’d ride my bike around the neighbourhood, making the *CHKK-CHRR-CHRRKK* sound. Needless to say, I was elated when Lego announced they’d finally be releasing an Optimus Prime set!
This was a fun set to assemble and I could feel 7-year-old-me getting giddy as Optimus started to take form. I still haven’t transformed him into the big rig. I want to enjoy him in robot form for a while.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good but not great

In many ways, this toy is a better version of the original G1 hasbro toy in that it looks closer to the cartoon version, and I have to give Lego a lot of credit for making a transformable version of this. However,
main weakpoint is the rotatable midsection. It is not sturdy enough to survive multiple transformations, and one must also take care when transporting as the legs have fallen off a couple of times if holding Prime above the waist. I did not have the same problem with the Voltron set which felt much more sturdy and could survive taking the lions apart from robot mode. Perharps superglue is the answer, but of course this is a last option.

Incredible value

Let me start by putting a little info out there.I have been building since I was little I have collected hundreds of Lego sets and have rebuilt plenty from my childhood putting them on display across my home. And I can't think of a single set I was compelled to write a review for. This set is the first Optimus Prime toy I've ever owned and I'm glad for that. The building experience was complex enough to keep me wanting more without getting unnecessarily complex. The transformation is smooth and the amount of accessories it comes with are amazing and really add to the value of the set. The facts spread throughout the instructions are also a gem, as a long time transformers viewer it was fun to read them. 100% recommend this set to anyone who would listen. Especially if you made it to the end of my rambling review.

My dad got this for me as a gift, which was something I had always wanted for a while now. Although it took a while to build him, it was worth it. He's so massive and full of detail.
The only problem is that he's a bit fragile and pieces can easily fall off, but overall that is overshadowed by the fact that HE CAN TRANSFORM.
It takes a bit of getting used to, but once you know how to do it, it becomes easy as pie.

As both a Transformers and LEGO fan, I have to say that this is a beautiful piece, each of the steps that this set takes you through is a dream come true accompanied by the fun facts that you will find in the instructions manual. I highly recommend this set to any one that really enjoys Transformers and a pleasant building experience. 10/10.
