Autobots Roll Out!

I found this set to be a lot of fun to build, it was quite the challenge for me (especially when I got to his legs) I messed up a couple of times but was easily able to fix my mistakes; he’s pretty sturdy and stays upright really well. He’s currently on display on my bookshelf and I hope one day that we get Megatron.
Cant wait to build my next set :)

Probably my favorite Lego set yet!

Mostly I’ve enjoyed Star Wars Lego since my wife & mother-in-law got me back into Lego (since childhood), but when I’d seen this one come out I was tremendously excited. My only complaint, this was my first Lego ever to be missing a piece. Fortunately this did not detract from the overall outcome nor the scoring of this review. It’s very clear I can get the missing piece replaced and I had sufficient spare to fill that void albeit from other set leftovers.
Nonetheless I would highly recommend this set to anyone that’s a Lego and/or Transformers fan. If it wasn’t the joy of tidbit info throughout the build instructions, it maybe was the ability to transform it all after; reliving instructions and the puzzle those toys had been upon release way back in my day! Kudos to whomever got this idea out & produced. While I’d LOVE to see an Original Magatron to follow, I realize even the modern ‘tank’ vs ‘gun’ could prove a long shot hope. Regardless I very much hope to see more of these over time. The price was steep but I’d managed to find a way. After all as my brother pointed out -it’s Optimus!

Thank you for this cherished piece to my ever now growing collection. For many sets that may have proven anything of a let-down; this one definitely made up for them. Please give us more G1 Transformers in Lego this was probably my Favorite Lego set yet, as the title states!

Cool, but Fragile

I love Transformers and this is a cool addition to my collection, but it is way too fragile. The connections at the hips keep wanting to disconnect, which has caused me to have to rebuild it a few times already. The Voltron build was much more sturdy, so I'm not sure what went wrong with this one. I really want to love it, but the frustration of this set falling apart multiple times has made me review it much more poorly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Transformer and Lego set!

So excited that Lego and Hasbro collaborated to make this set. Brings me back to my childhood and it’s an excellent building experience. Please make more G1 Transformers!!!

A super enjoyable build filled with nostalgia. The transformation is very neat and works well once you get the steps down. No major issues with parts coming loose. Sometimes the foot taillights pop off and the leg positioning can be funky causing the back waist piece to come off if you don't spread the legs before clicking them back. In robot mode the biggest challenge is getting the torso to stand upright as it has a tendency to tilt forward giving you an unnatural look. This is more of a display piece than anything else.

It's what you expect from Lego, quality. Not many stickers (win) and it transforms relatively effortlessly. Once you get it, you'll love it!

I love and hate you at the same time, Lego team. I love the fact that you’ve managed to put two things that I love, one being a hobby and the other I use too watch growing up-Legos and transformers. I hate that fact that I keep underestimating that you, as a company, think you’ll run out of ideas, or fans will. I think I’ve seen everything and then this pops up on my screen. Knocked this one out of the park…again.
I didn’t have any real issues with it. The only critique I had was on the eyes of Prime. I kinda wished that there was more detail, the blue in his eyes. It signifies the Autobots as the red eyes signify the Decepticons. Other than that-great build. Keep the transformer line going.
